Very good and intimate surroundings. Clean and up to date guest features. I especially liked the room layout. Problem with thermostat was not too severe to be worth a bother. TV channel listing problem was aggravating

Really liked the room décor and how spacious it was but we were on the second floor and every time the person in the room above us walked around, used the shower, toilet, etc. we could hear everything. This really prevented us from sleeping since they went to bed late and got up early. Will stay at Homewood near Buckhead next time. Free breakfast with eggs, bacon, fruit and yogurt was good.

Very good. Enjoyed our stay. We were able to get an adjoining room for 8 people with this hotel. This was the only hotel in the area that offered an adjoining room. The location was perfect because it was in an area where we could get to all of our shopping needs (restaurants, groceries, etc). Hotel located on Peachtree, which is a prime location in ATL. The pool was a bit small, otherwise the hotel was nice and housekeeping cleaned everyday. The hotel also offered a nice hot breakfast every morning, which was a nice incentive. The only drawback to the breakfast deal was that breakfast ended at 10AM; which was not good if you are a late sleeper. I would stay at Homewood Suites again, if I was travelling with a larger group and needed adjoining suites.

The individual checking me in was on the phone for most of my check-in. When we arrived in our room, and began to unpack, we were told that they had given us the wrong room and that we would have to move. The room was dirty, dust was covering all of the vents and light fixtures, fingerprints were on the walls, and I was afraid to take off my shoes.

Spacious rooms at a convenient location - just "away enough" from the bustle of Atlanta proper. Take the family, stay over a weekend, and ask for any applicable discounts - the reception desk appeared to take every measure to make sure I was comfortable and happy with my decision to stay there.

Room Tip: Higher floor (there are only two) costs you a trip up the stairs, but seems a little quieter; there...

We stayed at this hotel for a week while on business in the Cobb Galleria area. Location is good; there is a Target at the shopping center next door that is within walking distance, plenty of decent restaurant options, and a Starbucks across the street. Up the road a bit, 5-10 minutes driving, you'll find a large outdoor shopping complex called 'The Forum', more eateries, grocery stores, and a movie theater. Traffic wasn't too bad, either, which is becoming more and more of a valuable asset, even in suburban Atlanta.

Our room (a two-bedroom suite) was located on the 'inside' of the complex facing toward the swimming pool on the bottom floor. As soon we walked into the room we realized that there would be problems (see uploaded pictures.) While clean enough, the suite looked like it had been through the ringer, leather armchair pockmarked, desk chair arm rest ripped in half, fabric frayed on most everything else. There were water spots in various places on the ceiling, discolored wallpaper, a patch on the wall not covered, and the bathroom door in the second room of the suite would not shut unless you literally slammed it (with gusto.) The appliances were straight out of 1990, the back burner on the stove did not work, and there were only a handful of kitchen items. Another issue was that the AC intake vent was located directly above one of the beds in the double-bed room, and was both loud and dirty.

The icing on the cake, however, was the utter thinness of the flooring in the suite above us. We could hear every footstep the family above made, and the ceiling vibrated so violently that the fans in our room shook!

I immediately went to the front desk and asked if we could switch rooms due to the noise. The attendant was apologetic, but said that no other room would be available until the following day, then offered to call the room above us to ask them to tone it down. I declined her offer to call, as, honestly, I don't think that the noise had as much to do with the occupants of the room as it did with the construct of the hotel.

That night a teenage girls' basketball team was bussed into the hotel and were allowed to roam the grounds freely until 1AM, dribbling basketballs, being extremely loud, and calling our room on accident (apparently) at 3AM. Obviously, you can't hold the hotel too responsible for this, but it was a major inconvenience as we had a presentation the following morning and slept miserably. This hotel does offer rates that are very reasonable for weeknights in the Atlanta area, thusly do be aware of the type of patrons (groups, and otherwise) that it will draw.

The next morning, groggy and working off of 4 hours of fitful sleep, I again went to the front desk and followed up on the availability of another room. The manager was on-duty and went out of his way to say that he was aware of our complaint and that we were a priority to be moved as soon as another 2 bedroom suite was cleaned. We received a call around 11AM that our new room had been spiffed up and shortly returned to our hotel to make the switch after our presentation. The new room was on the second floor on the back side of the hotel and we were thrilled at the location (tranquility, yes!) ... unfortunately, upon opening the door we were greeted with a blast of stale cigarette smoke (in a non-smoking room) and dejectedly returned to the front desk where they offered to put an ionizer in the room for a few hours to see if the smell could be reduced or eliminated. Fast forward a few hours and a return trip to the room accompanied by a member of staff, the smell still pungently lingered and we were told that this was essentially all that they could do in terms of switching us (all other two room suites were booked, and apparently the only regular suites left available were smoking as well,) but did generously offer that night's stay for free. While the gesture was sincerely appreciated on our end, we would have paid EXTRA for a peaceful night's sleep!

Once the basketball team left, the remainder of our week at the hotel was relatively calm and enjoyable (provided that we returned to the hotel late into the evening AFTER our upstairs neighbors had already retired for the night.) We were able to work around the issues inside of the room itself and it definitely began to feel more and more like home to us.

I will say that the staff (especially the manager, I believe his name is Jason) at this Homewood is about as EXCEPTIONAL as they come. His staff is overtly friendly and seemed to work in pleasant cohesion. They all met in the lobby around 8:30-9:00AM each morning to go over complaints and read comment cards. I heard them voting on a team meal and the group just seemed generally enthusiastic about their jobs and the property itself. Lots of smiles. It was actually heart-warming to witness.

On our last morning there, while getting some hot water for tea, I heard the manager say, "I know we are [an] old [hotel], but let's make up for it with our service!" The sentiment is certainly felt at the property, and is an admirable pursuit, but I left the hotel with mixed feelings especially after reading some of the other reviews here on TA.

My question for the team at this hotel is: why aren't you proactively fixing the cosmetic issues in your suites? Take a look at my pictures. I find it hard to believe that fixing the bathroom door, repainting the ceiling, or replacing some of the destroyed pieces of furniture in the room would be that difficult (or expensive.) Our suite was around ~$170 a night. At that price, your guests are frankly deserving of a better quality of accommodation. Nevertheless, thank you for doing all that was in your power to make our stay more enjoyable and representing the Hilton brand as amazingly as you did.

Room Tip: Avoid suites on bottom floor, back wings of the hotel facing the parking lot will be the most quiet.

The Pool is located across the street in the sister property The Marriott, which you have to cross an public street in your swimsuit. It was not for that issue, the hotel is great place to stay with your family.
