The building where the restaurant is located is an old train depot right next to the railroad tracks. Three trains went by while we were there and it was interesting to see them. There is a large collection of old train and depot photographs on the walls inside; however, the building smells strongly of sour, wet wood so much that we decided to sit outside on the porch. We should have left when we noticed the nasty smell of the building and not risked trying the food.
I do not advise anyone to eat here.We had lunch here yesterday and were really disappointed with the amount and quality of the food we were served. We ordered a spinach salad and a salmon salad. The salmon stank so terribly (fresh fish does not smell fishy) that I did not dare even take a bite of it and one of the tomatoes on the salad was actually rancid. How does a cook not notice that ? My wife's spinach salad was ok but the ingredients--egg, mushroom, and bacon--were VERY skimpy. The waitress took $6 off our bill for the salmon, but her service was very slow and at the time we were eating (2 pm), there were hardly any customers in the restaurant. We had to wait for our check about 30 minutes. We also had to go somewhere else to eat after wasting an hour at this place.
