This is just a one night stay on our journey north but the campground is so VERY CLEAN!!!! The Office staff & restaurant staff are super friendly & helpful.

This is the fall so the swimming area was closed for the season, but it looked very nice. The lake is beautiful but we didn't fish. We arrived late & there was no time for fun activities. The town is EXTREMELY small. There are no restaurants in the town except for a McDonald's, Dairy Queen & Huddle House. Bring in your own food or plan to travel for your meals.

There are several playground areas for the children.

The golf course is beautiful from what we could see.

We had dinner at the campground restaurant which was very good, filling & very reasonable. I had the two pieces of fried chicken with white meat & onion rings which was $8.95. My husband had the fried whole catfish which consisted of two whole average catfish & fries which was $8.95. Soup & salad bar came with the dinner. I had two glasses of Chardonnay & he had two Miller Lite's. We also had a piece of pecan pie to go. Both our dinners were very good but the pie was average. Not what we expected for Georgia. The bill came to $38.68 without a tip.

The restaurant has specific hours of operation & serves breakfast, lunch & dinner.

If in the area again, we will stop!!!!!

Thank you Little Ocmulgee State Park for this wonderful experience!!! We LOVE Georgia State Parks. They are VERY CLEAN & friendly!!!!

If you like to golf, this is the place for you as it seems the state park is geared around their beautiful, ample golf course. My hubby and I, however, are not golfers and were there just for a night of camping on the way home from another town in GA.

The camp itself is very nice and clean, camp sites nicely spaced apart with ample trees and a nice walking trail. If we were here for a longer stay we might have taken a peek at the swimming area and other amenities; as we didn't venture far from our site I have no opinion on those.

If you want to go out for a meal, prepare to drive 30 miles to the next town or settle for McDonald's as there is NOTHING worthwhile in McRae or Helena. TripAdvisor listed a couple of restaurants but nothing we would consider walking into, seriously.

The restaurant at the park lodge was the only option, so we had dinner there. The Friday Night Seafood Buffet was the main draw, typical deep fried southern cooking, sweet tea was flowing!
