We were on a three-week fly/drive through the southern states, and the Hyatt Regency was the best modern hotel on the trip (that is not to compare with a couple of unique boutique hotels).
We paid $157 including tax for city view and breakfast package, which was far less than some one-star dumps on the Outer Banks, and by far the best value of any accommodation on the entire trip. This may have been because it was Saturday night in a business hotel, but we were very appreciative of the opportunity to stay in such a stellar hostelry and not break the bank.
The landscaping and waterfalls behind the wide expanse of windows in the restaurant was nothing short of breathtaking, and the food and service were first class. The only complaint I have is that the TV sports channels really detract from the ambiance. Soft classical music is more appropriate for such an elegant space.
The suite, with great view of the Atlanta skyline and vigorous thunderstorm, was spacious and elegant, with anything you could desire. There was central air conditioning. The only tiny flaw was that a drawer under the huge flat-screen TV rolled open and could not be closed. Luckily there was so much room it wasn’t in the way.
The elegant breakfast was a fine end to a most enjoyable stay.More
