Simple, peaceful, tranquil, thought-provoking. Makes you wonder about life and death, history and memory. I have made many a prayer walk in it. Not very large or ostentacious (you won't find too many mausoleums in it), but if you read and pay attention, you might learn a lot.

This place underscores what the result of the civil war meant to the south. It shows what can happen if our country doesn't work together to solve real issues of our day.

Beautiful cemetery, right in the heart of "Civil War Georgia", in a very nice town called Marietta. If you are interested in Civil War or just barely know that this war took place, you must see Marietta Confederate Cemetery. It's free. There is a monument for the unknown confederate soldiers which is very nice with all the flags of the Confederate states. It is, let say, "special" to see the Confederate flag in the wind just feet of a "slave lot". Yes, slaves were burried in the confederate cemetery!!
When you're done here, don't miss Kenessaw Mountain National Battlefield (go read my review).

What a heartfelt work of art. Several sculptures with emotional quotations throughout the cemetery. Quite an accomplishment to restore this cemetery & make it so lovely now. You'll be blessed to honor these fallen soldiers.
