“If you're looking for good Indian food, Haveli is NOT the place to go.”
Reviewed March 5, 2012

There was an animal in the ceiling. I'll say it again... there was AN ANIMAL IN THE CEILING while we were eating. We're pretty sure it was a rat, but when we told the guy, he looked up at the ceiling and tore off a piece of cotton that was hanging down and said "no thats just cotton." We told him that we heard an animal, and he said "oh, it must be a squirrel." Whatever it was, it was hunting our dinner from above!

We got the dinner for two, which includes a big platter of stuff (tandoori chicken, lamb kababs, tikka masala). The Mulligatawny soup was good; The Tikka Masala was ok at best, you can do way better. The lamp kababs were gross. The naan was good though. The rice pudding was disgusting! Our waitress was very nice. She barely understood English, and gave me weird looks when I asked simple questions like "is it spicy?" Took forever with everything, forgot to bring cokes.. but she was very nice. Actually everyone was very nice and polite, but the food quality was low and the establishment was in terrible disrepair.

We went because I had a craving, but now I'm kind of scared of Indian food. All in all, a terrible experience and we will never go back.

“Unpredictable quality”
Reviewed February 25, 2012

I want to love this restaurant, it"s my favourite cuisine, however the quality of the food is very hit or miss. Some days it knocks your socks off, some days it"s just above awful.

“Splendid food, even for those uneasy about indian.”
Reviewed February 11, 2012

We go every time we're in Atlanta. Generally north indian food, not too hot, although you can order hard core if you want it. The mint chutney can be surprisingly hot, so don't try chugalugging it if you don't want to become the evening's entertainment. Food rich tasting, well prepared. Indian haute cuisine, with generous servings. I'd especially recommend the haveli dinner, chicken tikka masala, and the saag paneer. As with all indian restaurants, the breads are not to be missed. Our favorite place in nw georgia.

“OK, especially in view of lack of Indian choices in area”
Reviewed January 30, 2012

Very hard to find good Indian food on this side of town, so this kind of is it. And sadly it's OK but not great, or we'd be here bi-weekly. Decent service, and OK food but nothing special.

“Delicious food but a little pricey”
Reviewed December 27, 2011

We love Indian food and have eaten it all over the world. The fare here is good and not too Americanised/Westernised, which is a problem with most Asian food we eat in the US. The pickles and pappadums provided at the beginning are delicious. A couple of the dishes have been plainer than expected but all in all it is very good and we can recommend this restaurant. A couple of suggestions for them though, and that is to spend a little effort on maintaining the premises/windows etc. inside and out. The presentation of the building does not match the quality of the food and it does them a disservice. The canvas awnings outside are filthy and old, for example. The first time we visited we nearly did not enter because of the appearance. There are some flower beds outside that could simply do with some colorful plants to enhance the appearance. I used to manage shopping malls for a living so I'm aware why developers spends millions on appearances. If I had one major criticism of the restaurant, it would be pricing. It seems a bit expensive to us compared to what one can get for the money in the US. If the place looked like a million dollars then subconciously perhaps one might not mind paying the prices, thinking you were eating a bit more upmarket or at a special place etc.
