Marietta Square has many choices but none have the same quality as BB. I enjoy the fresh ingredients bought from local farms and have not been disappointed with the execution. The food is delicious and creative. If you are looking for a change of pace, it's worth trying.

While Marietta Sq. needs more great restaurants, The Butcher and the Baker is not one of them! The B&B are attempting to be an upscale mid town eatery unfortunately they have fallen short of meeting that level in both service and food. Although we had reservations (through seatme which was sort of ironic), they could not seat us at a table and from there it went down hill, poor service and lackluster food that came out on the warm to cold side. On a positive note, they have a friendly bar and a good mixologist. If you want nice friendly service with great food then I would recommend Kiosco on the Square.

We arrived 10 min early and our table was ready but we were asked to wait until our reservation time and then were seated. Food is pretty good but there is no vibe and average service. The wine recommended by our waitress was not available. The menu might be a little ambitious for Marietta. Several couples walked in looked at the menu and walked out. Restaurant was half full.

We arrived on time and the table was ready, no wait. That was as good as it got. We ordered a bottle of wine and in a minute the waiter came back and said they were out. We ordered another and again in a minute or two they said that they were out. The next one came and we were told that it had not been chilled, so we picked another and that one worked. We ordered appetizer's and they all came out at different times. Not just a minute but several, mine arrived 12 minutes after all others were done. Then the items began to arrive, again minutes apart from each other. And when my trout arrived I noticed that one piece was not cooked, at all. It is a shame that you still have to travel to Atlanta to get quality service and food that is worth the price you pay. I think that the concept is good but they have a long way to go to be called a quality restaurant.

We arrived at 6:45 and told our server that we had 8PM tickets at Lyric and he was on the ball from the beginning. We had a delightful meal and were walking out by 7:30, plenty of time to make the show.
We had Cigar Box Cabs, shared a Pork Belly app, Pork Tenderloin for me and Trout for my wife. Awesome meal and terrific service. Will go back soon but this was perfect for having dinner before a show because the play didn't get out till well after 10PM, a bit late if you haven't eaten.
If you are headed for the Strand or Theatre in the Square afterwards, its just a short walk to both.
