The market starts at 9 but you need to be there by 8:30 to get the best of the produce. Local farmers bring everything from fresh carrots, tomatoes, beans, asparagus, eggs, yogurt (yep - greek with the best flavors - try the habernero or the peach ginger.) There's even fresh milk products, cheeses, Pine Street market who has the best bacon on the planet, fresh flowers - you name it, it's at your beck and call. Bring a BIG environmentally approved bag or pick up one of the free Marietta bags at the stand on the corner. James' sweet corn this year was phenominal and the peaches are just coming in. Vendors are friendly and food is delicious. Don't forget to grab a pastry to take with you or some of GiGi's cajun creole spices or crawfish pie for dinner that night. Pair it with a fresh baguette or some bread from Fat Lady Baker and you've just created heaven. Enjoy!

The square has everything from awesome eateries, shops, theater, street concerts and early Saturday morning fresh markets and specialty ice creams. Inside, there's a playground for children to roam and at Christmastime, it is decorated so beautifully. We love to go down there and use any excuse we can!

Spend a day or a weekend in Marietta if you would like to see a glimpse of small town life in a beautiful city north of the big ole ATL. Great restaurants, antique stores, unique shops, and a wine store that is worth a visit. Several bed and breakfast to stay or stay in a picturesque golf course Hilton hotel right up the road. A good side bet for those that are traveling to Atlanta. Take in Kennesaw Mtn. Battlefield while your there

I actually live in Marietta and I really enjoy visiting the square. It is fun to walk around and visit all the shops. On friday nights during the summer there is a concert. And on Saturdays and Sundays local businesses set up shop to participate in a farmers market on the square, it really is great.

I would recommend anyone visiting Marietta for the first time or just returning to enjoy this beautiful city go by the square and spend a few hours.
