“Restaurant progressive and we returned!”
Reviewed February 3, 2013 via mobile

Came into 220 restaurant thru adjoining antique shop. Hostess was less than enthusiastic about seating us, so we sat at a hightop in the bar area. Open, airy place, rather trendy for Madison. The girl working at the bar was fabulous. Knew her wine, knew the food, made excellent recommendations. The tuna wasabi appetizer is to die for.

Then left to try Tequilla Express for dinner, which is a greek-italian-mexi joint next door in a doublewide. Although a quick bite was tasty we went back to 220 Town for dessert. Met with same hostess enthusiasm, so sat again at bar but at a different hightop. Had an amazing dessert and found a bottle of rare Napa area red. The male bartender was also super knowledgeable, and even took our picture with the bottle. He told us about a special Valentines dinner they are having and we are considering attending.

Wonderful food and service, if you can overlook the pouty teenage hostess.

“Pricey - Yet Delicious”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

I found the set up of the restaurant to be a bit odd - it is very open and lacks an intimate vibe. The lobster bisque, calamari and crab cakes were delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. The bar is stocked with great top shelf liquor. If you're a gin drinker like I am, enjoy a Hendrix and tonic while you're there for me!

“Food good but staff not very focused!”
Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

When we arrived, around Noon on Saturday, the tables were half full . Out of about 10 unoccupied tables, 8 were dirty, covered in dishes. Our waitress was the only one that would grab things on the way back to the kitchen. One guy never picked up a thing & the other guy only did when he needed to seat someone. The owner walked thru twice, looking across the dining room & kept right on going. This table was covered when we walked in ans still covered when we left. Food pretty good, but who wants to eat surrounded by filthy tables!?!

Great service and food was amazing. I had a ribeye and my husband had a rack of lamb. Incredible food, worth the price. Ambiance was nice as well.

“Nice atmosphere, good food”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

Town 220 is in the Market behind the James Madison Inn so it was convenient for us since we were staying at the Inn. The restaurant is open with a high ceiling and large windows and features a kitchen behind glass so you can watch meals being prepared. The service was good and professional and the food was good and reasonably priced. There was a nice variety on the menu from steaks to pasta and seafood.
