As part of a group of five I stayed at Banyak Surf Bungalows (BSB) for 14 days May-June 2013. The camp is located inside the Bay of Plenty at the southern point of Tuangku. BSB is situated right in front of a high quality right-hander, 'Gunters'. There are another two righthanders nearby, and two or three lefts, also of great quality suiting all standards of surfing. The host/manager, Brad Kosky is an easygoing guy and nothing was ever too much trouble. He was always happy to do a boat run to other waves if required. The accommodation is basic but certainly adequate, remembering that BSB is a surf camp, and not a resort. The food was very good and we certainly did not go hungry at anytime. Food is a mix of Indonesian and western, with a good supply of fish available for those who like to go after the big ones. . Its a remote location so getting there takes a while (especially by road which btw is to be avoided if possible). I have no trouble in recommending BSB to any surfer looking for a sensational surf camp trip and our group are already planning a return trip.
