“Nice Biking and Hiking Trails”
Review of Arabia Mountain

I went to Arabia Mountain for the first time this past weekend (June 2013). Overall, the trails were nice to walk along and the scenery was interesting. The website for the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area (arabiaalliance.org) is also well done. The fact that there isn't a fee to park or use the space is nice as well. I walked from the nature center down to the south parking lot along the boardwalk and then up Arabia Mountain. Just as a heads up, the view from the top of Arabia mountain is mostly the surrounding woods. You could see the Bank of America building popping over one of the hills but in general you can't see the city of Atlanta. The only other complaint I had was that there are no permanent restroom facilities at any of the parking areas and the portable toilets were gross and without toilet paper.

I come here on a regular basis to hike. Love hiking the mountain as well as the bike path. Signing could be a bit better. It is like going to Stone Mountain without all of tourist attractions. No charge to park.

A nice hiking area with miles of paved and unsaved paths. Animal friendly. A large abandoned quarry is on site and at least 1 lake that we found.

We like to go here to fly kites and sometimes have a picnic on the mountain. I have memories of going here with my mom with a bag of McDonalds and setting up a blanket on the rocks. I am proud to do that same thing with my kids. There really isn't much to do here except go exploring, and that's why it didn't get all 5 stars. Most of the time, I just let the kids wander and we see all kinds of Georgia wildlife along the way.

The trails are great, with many entrance points depending on how far you want to walk. Convenient for bikes and pets also.
