I have been here on 3 occasions each time a different experience, the first time was 2 years ago we went at about 8.30 am and the wild life were out we even got chased by the elephants protecting their young which at the time was frightening but just makes you realise how dangerous it can be , but also exciting, the second time we arrived at 11.30 and had to drive around looking for the big 5 some zebra and water buffalo were visible and elephants in the far distance , the third time we arrived at 6.30am thinking we might catch the lions, but no not much again , just similar to the last visit , but we did manage to get some good videos of the elephants close up and zebra , I guess what im trying to say is , it doesn't really matter what time you turn up , its just the look of the draw , but definitely a place to visit and I would definitely go back again , its such an amazing experience

my hubby, in-laws and i stayed for 3 nites at a Hilltop Camp chalet for 4. it was a spacious, split level unit w 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, balcony, kitchen, living and dining areas. i would have enjoyed my stay more had it not smelled mildly like urine. on our nite drive, we were warned of naughty baboons who have entered units, tore up places and then took a pee too for good measure! so it might have been from a previous incident? tho housekeeping were helpful everyday.
anyway, a small matter as the park was fantastic. we enjoyed the drives (both self guided and nite drive w a group). the animals were plentiful and wonderful to see. the restaurant food was very good tho one nite, the mushroom soup was clearly burned. the only other unpleasant experience was when we were approached by a waitstaff member following dinner. we left a generous tip but he asked for cash instead.
otherwise, we had a truly wonderful experience.

Brilliant place, we stayed in the tented camp at mplia. tent and kithen facilities good. It was very hot 42 degrees so animals not come out to play, but the ones we saw were really good viewings.
Downside - roads are really falling to peices so make sure tyres are insured, we stayed self catering and took most of what we thought we needed with us, however, do not expect to get anything you forgot when you get there. We forgot batteries, they had none in either the mpila or hilltop shop that fitted, so we decided to buy new torches, no batteries came with the torch and they had none that fitted them. mpila is on a generator that shuts off at 10.00pm, be aware of any food bought in the shop as it cools day time heats up over night to cool again, we bought tomatoes ended up with the trots. century centre is a bit of a waste of time full of women who want to sell stuff but cant be bothered.

Unfortunately may be because of the time of the day, maybe because of the rainy weather or maybe just because of bad luck, we practically didn t see animales although we went around many kms trying to find them. Also the roads were in a very bad condition, bad signalized, many places were closed (like the center), and at the gate we entered the reserve , the employee was rude and not helpfull.. so for these reasons we where very dissapointed!

This was a beautiful Park. It is lush and has great animals to see. It truly was like I was envisioning for an African Safari. Dirt rugged Roads, open jeeps etc. Loved this place! We saw lots of rhinos, giraffes, zebra's, birds etc. Had a great guide! Highly recommended.
