At the front office there is one of those "teller" type windows to protect the staff at night which made me wonder how safe the area was, next to the gas station, for this renovated motel with the rooms along the parking lot. Checking in by day, we were greeted politely and had a room near the front. Road, gas station and dumpster noises were one thing, but when the person next door was walking back and forth and closing doors and then cars were coming and going at 4:30 AM I was nervous which I rarely am, about what goes on in this place. The rooms are all on the parking lot level and the floors sag in spots and make noise and as noted, the walls are thin from room to room. I had to wipe the A/C vents as there appeared to be black mold.
The rooms do have a fridge, microwave and table with 2 chairs, and a curious bar type sink just outside of the bathroom with it's own sink and such. The TV volume only goes up to a certain level, which could still be heard through the walls, but not over the loud A/C unit. The closed captioning was on ours and not able to be turned off to our knowledge so we still knew what people were saying even though the volume wouldn't allow this.
Breakfast was unusual. There was a juice machine, a few pastries, 2 yogurts and a couple of pieces of fruit available. As soon as we took two yogurts, they were replaced with 3 others as if they were afraid to put out too much and someone, guest or otherwise, might make off with them. The price was low and for one night it was okay, but not a place I'd recommend to friends comfortably.
