We loved this park. We paid a little extra for a "waterfront" campsite and my advice to any future visitors would be: drive around and see what's available b/4 setting up camp. The campsites are first come, first serve and we were afraid it would fill up quickly, so we grabbed the first waterfront site we came to and then discovered far better sites the next day. The bathhouses were super clean and stocked. I didn't see a single bug inside. The camping area was filled with families and older couples, so there was never a problem with noise or after-hours partying. There's a geocache hidden along the muscadine trail, but don't go searching for it without the smart phone app. I highly recommend driving about 15mi northeast to Toccoa Falls. You do have to pay a small fee, but it is well worth it!!

We have camped here many times and have enjoyed every time we have been. The primitive camp sites are spaced far enough away so you have some privacy. A short drive down to the main camp grounds you find showers and bathrooms to freshen up. I recommend visiting this state park.

Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Office staff very helpful and friendly. Our site was breathtaking, overlooking Lske Hartwell. Already planning a return visit in the near future.

I use to live near there and visited there often. It is a good park and we love to fish there too. I don't have anything else to say except everyone should visit this park.

Just returned from our family reunion at Tugaloo Park. Approximately 55 relatives attended of which more than 30 stayed in the lake front cottages. What a pleasant surprise at the size and cleanliness of the units. Each air conditioned units had two bedrooms with two double beds in each and two baths. The large kitchen had every concievable need that you could ask for. The patio overlooked Lake Hartwell and had a barbeque grill and a fire pit. The sunsets were magnificent. Kids loved the beaches, swimming, fishing (one caught a seven pound catfish), mini golf and boating. Golf courses were within easy driving distance. (By car, not a three wood).

The management, staff and rangers were extremely helpful, courteous and friendly. We rented the "Group Pavillion" for our big shing dig. It held seating for 100, was air conditioned, had all the kitchen amenities that were required and we had the time of our lives.

My daughter and her family are planning a return this fall for a family vacation.
