“Gorgeous”
Reviewed June 16, 2014

The falls were outstanding and the hike was fairly short. There is a second view of the falls with another lower cascade about 100 feet down the trail and going through the rhododendron. Lots of play spots for kids and adults. The trail is marked, but easy to miss. Look for a wooden handrail and that has the marking on it. Parking is conveniently right across the street. No easy drive as really narrow twisty roads in and out.

Photographers might be better to go early or late in the day or on a rainy day as the shots will be overexposed from direct sun in midday.

“Beautiful Waterfall near Lake Rabun”
Reviewed April 17, 2014

Minnehaha Falls is a beautiful 60-foot cascading waterfall on Falls Branch. It is located near Lake Rabun in Chattahoochee National Forest. From Lake Rabun Road off US-441, go west about 6 miles to Seed Lake and cross just below the dam. Immediately turn left on Bear Gap Road (gravel) and go about 1.5 miles and pull off on the left side of the road. GPS coordinates of the pulloff are 34.74962,-83.47907. The only signs of the trail is a Forest Service post with 147 and wooden stairs with "To Minnehaha" scribbled (and misspelled) on them. The trail is moderately steep, but very short - less than a half-mile to the waterfall. There is a clearing at the end of the trail at the base of the falls to enjoy the view. Some large rocks in the clearing make a great spot to sit down and relax and enjoy the view. It's not real well known so you might have the falls to yourself.

“Very short hike but beautiful falls”
Reviewed December 23, 2013

The hike to the falls was short but just a bit steep. Beautiful falls and great place for pictures. A little tricky to find by car but worth it,.

“Among the Very Best in N GA!!!!”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

My wife and I make an annual OktoberFest pilgrimage to the Helen, GA area. One of the most distinctive highlights for us every year is a visit to Tallulah Gorge State Park. During a visit and discussion with a Park Ranger at Tallulah a couple of years ago, we were told about the hard-to-find Minnehaha Falls. What a great hidden treasure! The drive on Bear Gap Road is a bit of an adventure. It becomes and undeveloped road and passes some really scenic lake houses. The only “sign” for the trailhead is a wooden stairway leading up into the forest on the right side of Bear Gap. You can learn more about this waterfall at http://www.georgiatrails.com/gt/Minnehaha_Falls . The hike is fairly short and relatively easy.
