There are two locations in Lagrange. I have eaten at both many times. Last night, we went to the Hwy 29, the original location. The service was the best I have had in a long time. Devin, our server, was absolutely fantastic. And she said we caught her on a bad day! The manager/owner came around a couple of times to check on us. Portions were big, sides fantastic. I had the ribs and BBQ chicken combo, potato salad and baked sweet potato. I barely touched my food. The kids love the peanuts on the table. They were given piggy coloring sheets and crayons. We felt at home and well taken care of. For the first time in a very long time, we felt the food and service was worth the price. We purchased the hamburger steak plate to go, and my daughter who got off work late said it was the best she has ever eaten.
Now as far as the Layayette Pkwy location, which is closer to the Interstate, motels and shopping, it does have a more bar feel to it. The service nor the food seems as good to me. And if you go in the evening, you will hear the ruckus at the bar which is not as cozy as the Hwy 29 location. If you want to go orders, they have specials through the week that heat up well.
