“Yummy Deliciousness!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2014

Driving through Jesup and found this online. So glad we stopped. It's nothing to speak of as far as decor goes, but it was very clean and the staff was incredibly nice and efficient. It was packed when we were there, but the line moved quickly. Basically you pay, you're given a seat at the communal tables and set loose on a buffet line. It's good southern cooking, similar to what nice church ladies would make. I ate a lot of veggies and salads, but my boyfriend said the chicken and dumplings were probably the best he'd ever had. We couldn't attempt the desserts because we were both so full. Frankly, if you're near the area and want a good home-cooked meal, make the effort to stop in at Jones.

“A Taste Of The South In Your Mouth”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2014

Local southern cooking at its finest. Jones Kitchen has been cooking up and serving some of the finest regional cooking in the area as long as I can remember and I am 52 years old. But you have to get here early to get a jump on the locals filling up the long tables at this place. Open from 11:00 a.m., to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Jones Kitchen serves up some of the most popular southern dishes on its buffet. You can smell the mouth watering food before you even walk through the doors. The owner, Carol Brown smiles at you from behind the register as you line up to pay and get your glass of either sweet tea, punch, lemonade or water, silverware and look for an open spot to claim. After you do that, you follow the people to the back of the building to the table holding the platters and desert bowls. Your eyes are met with the most tempting smorgasbord of southern dishes around. You start with the salad & dessert station that has items such as chicken salad, coleslaw, shredded carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sliced peaches, banana & chocolate puddings. Next up is the hot-out-the-oven biscuits & cornbread, butter, whipped cream, slices of various cakes and sweet potato pie, and potato salad. Then come your meats: ham, baked & fried chicken, fried pork chops, BBQ ribs, sausages, and crispy pork rinds. Next up are the sides: rice, mashed potatoes, gravy, mac n cheese, dressing, apple cobbler, and mashed sweet potatoes. Fresh vegetable round out this buffet line with steaming pans of okra, creamed corn, green beans, black eyed peas, butter beans, squash casserole, and stewed tomatoes. All I can say is if your leave hungry, it is your own fault. While Paula Deens in Savannah is more tourist attraction at twice the price, this place is genuine down home good cooking for your money and no reservation is needed but do get here early.

“Best "grandmother" southern cooking in the state of Georgia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2014

The food is always good. Don't expect fancy dining. There are long tables in which you claim a seat and will be sitting with other diners. No private table here. You won't be disappointed in the food or service. EXCELLENT all you care to eat/drink at one all inclusive low price. The sweet potato pie is to die for!

“Good value southern cooking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

This is the type of place you find in many small towns. If you go at lunch you will find it packed full but they always seem to have a full selection of food choices. Mostly fried meats but they also feature other main dishes as well. Family style seating at long tables. Service is excellent and it seems like my glass of tea never ran dry.

Great value for a good buffet meal - it's the kind of place you know will be good when you see the parking lot ...

“Real Southern cooking, excellent selection, delicious food at a great price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013 via mobile

We make a point to eat here anytime we are in the area, we even go out of our way to eat here. We have eaten here over a dozen times. Always good!

The meats and vegetablesare GREAT. There are so many to choose from. Served piping hot. The staff is always courteous and prompt. You receive your own pitcher of tea.

Get there early but if there is a line, it is worth the wait. This is where the locals eat. Sit and enjoy a conversation with some friendly people.

Wish this Southern restaurant was closer to home!
