We loved our visit here, fun educational and a great cause!
The most unusual part of the visit was seeing the recuperating turtles being treated. They have a big window into the treatment room and you get to see them being handled and treated with a full commentary. It was great for our 7 year old daughter to understand and learn about vet medicine and see it in practice. They also have a number of turtles in tanks at the back that you can see. Look ahead on their website for feeding times and for a behind the scenes tours times, well worth the price. They also have a short puppet show, mainly for smaller kids that is fun. The main exhibit is worth spending some time in for its educational content, both for adults and kids.
Finally, choose to make a donation of any kind, like we did, this is a research facility that depends on the generosity of its visitors.
Highly recommended.

The sea turtle center was really interesting. Great for children. The people that work there spend time explaining all about the turtles and introduce you to some of them. They have so much knowledge and no matter what your age your question gets answered. A great place to visit.

Really enjoyed the trip here! They are doing amazing work at rescuing and hopefully releasing injured or sick sea turtles! Yes, it's not a huge place but you can spend a good deal of time here. There are scheduled feedings, meet the patients' tours, etc throughout the day. If you miss these, ask the staff if you can return later in the day. I was there early afternoon then came back for the 4pm feeding. As others have said, it's adjacent to the grounds of the Jekyll Island Club and historic district so you can park once and easily walk around to see the attractions. Definitely worth seeing, especially with kids!

This center takes care of injured turtles....there is a display section to inspect and then a separate building where injured turtles are recovering. The attendants were very helpful. But a bit pricey for a thirty minute visit.

Visited near to the end of the day and had a wonderful experience. Great to be shown the recovering or recently added turtles to the centre, why they were brought there and how they are treated. A good chance to see the vets perform daily routines on the turtles too. Plenty of educational stuff to keep you reading and it would be brilliant for kids too. Overall, a must for Jekyll Island. Price very reasonable.
