We traveled over 300 miles to spend 5 miserable days in a black, dusty leaf, mosquito infested campground in a brand new travel trailer. We never spent 5 minutes outside to enjoy the nice aluminum picnic table or to just relax in our chairs. The minute you stepped outside mosquito's would cover your arms and legs and squirrels would threaten you as close as two feet from you. We could not believe what we experienced. On arrival there was only one person at the check-in desk and she did not acknowlege me until she finished what she was doing. Did her job good but was not customer relations friendly at all. We never used the restrooms as they looked questionable. Trash receptacles were not very clean. There was a lot of trash (cans, bottles, styroform plates) around the edge of the campground.
Wi-fi and cable were great and we really used them when at the campground as we had to stay inside. We did enjoy the bike trails and the historic district and the new beach area.
Nothing is mentioned in the revitalization about upgrading the campground. An additional campground on the south end in walking distance of the beach, and not under so many trees, would be great for the more modern day RV. As far as campgrounds go this is the worst one ever since 1981.
