“Cute and Charming Property”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2012

This is our seventh time staying at the "club" and as usual the service and accomidations have been wonderful. Some parts of the Inn appear to be showing their age, and as a result a facelift may be in order. However, the property is very charming and the grounds quite lovely. I'd like to give special mentions to the dining room staff whom always go above and beyond to ensure that everything is just perfect.

Room Tip: Some of the "water view" rooms seem to be a strech. However, a view of the grounds at any...

this november was our 2nd time staying at this hotel. we eloped there this time last year and returned for our honeymoon this year. i decided to splurge and get the presidential suite this go around (have to call, not available online), this gets you the room with the tower on the front corner of the building. though it was neat to climb the tower and get all the good pictures, it really wasn't worth the added cost. i imagine any moderately sized or heavy -set person will have difficulty climbing the 20" wide spiral stair case to get up there as well. book with a AAA membership if you have one, this knocked over $200 of my bill for two nights. i really wish that they would at least include breakfast when booking the suite, especially at that price. property is excellent, dining halls and bars are excellent. we have met a lot of great guests while we were there both times. we plan to make this a yearly event, but in our case it will be no more than 3 days at a time as much longer and we would run out of things to do. we are late 20's / early 30's.

We spent two nights at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel Oct 31-Nov 2, 2012. We were looking for a mini-getaway on our trip south to Florida, and this was a perfect location for us. It's only about 15 minutes from I-95 and is a pretty special place. The main facility is 125 years old and has a lot of interesting history associated with it, including that it was the "birthplace" of the Federal Reserve in 1911. There are many dining options in the hotel and nearly, and we ate the first night in their main dining room and had a great experience. We thought the food was terrific with a great selection, interesting preparations, and accommodating service. We took advantage of a special dinner for two that they were running during October - it included FOUR courses (anything on the menu), a bottle of their house wine (the cab was decent) and tax and gratuity included for $125. A fabulous bargain!! Compared to the Homestead and Greenbrier, we felt is was a lot more reasonable and not nearly as formal. Rooms are available in the main hotel as well as in many outbuildings that were originally summer "cottages" of wealthy members of the club. We had a lovely king room in the Sans Souci building - beware, though, this building does NOT an elevator, so be sure and ask if yours does. The room rate was also a great deal - room and breakfast buffet for two for $195 a night. They have complimentary bikes and great bike paths all over Jekyll Island, which is largely a state park. Although the hotel is located on the "bay" side of the island (with great sunsets), there is an associated beach facility on the ocean side that is available to hotel guests and looks lovely.

Room Tip: Check on room size, location and whether or not there is an elevator in the building if stairs are a...

A wonderful historic hotel that takes you back to the days of grand and gracious living. Service was great. We were assigned a large room with fireplace and small private balcony with garden view. Dining room was top notch and we also had a great dinner at Latitudes restaurant at the end of the pier. I would definately come back here!

This is a less travelled island to visit in Georgia. The Hotel is the best location to stay at. From the hotel you can ride bikes around the island and even on the beach. The two restaurants at the hotel are both very good. The hotel rooms are pretty good (3-4 star), but the historic facility is a fun place to stay.

Room Tip: Don't visit during mosquito season. we sat on the pier in front of the hotel for a drink and in...

Jeckyll Island Club Hotel is one my absolute favorite getaways. The hotel and surroundings cottages are truly a step back in time. The island is so intimate that it can be explored either on foot or bike. The hotel has a wonderful staff and excellent restaurants. If you really want a relaxing getaway, this is the place to go.

Room Tip: Besides the hotel they have cottages as well

Beautiful resort with top notch customer service! Mike the valet went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. Would definetly visit here again. Can't think of one negative thing to say! Nice pool area with a bar and restaurant, beautiful grounds to explore by foot or bike.
