Make sure you sit in the bar area. They "bag" your unfinished bottle of wine. : ) Serving size was just right. Food was really good and came out fast. Owner greets tables for evaluations. Only drawback was no big man T-shirts, C'mon give some love to the big boys out there.

“Bistro is no B, it is an A+”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2014

This restaurant looks like almost a hole in the wall from the outside. Get there for dinner when they open at 5PM so you can get right in. It is beautiful inside, very friendly staff. Very pretty family restaurant. Prices are reasonable. You can get a petite size or a regular size. If you are an adult--I recommend a regular size. I ordered petite size portion and it didn't fill me up. My fault. But the food was amazing! Get the pot roast or the shrimp and grits, yum. There was something for everyone there. It is not a fancy dress up place, but you must have shoes, shirt and dry clothes, don't wear a wet bathing suit there. Casual family atmosphere. They have lunch too but we ate dinner there. Loved it. Very nice staff, great food.

“Best server ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014

Stephanie, our server was so patient, friendly and helpful with all my questions. She was the best! She even explained how to get to Driftwood beach which is right next to the restaurant and had signs. The shrimp and grits were wonderful and the fried green tomatoes were the best I've ever had. We went during happy hour and had half price wine and yummy fried wild Georgia shrimp. My husband had a great fresh house salad and shrimp Creole that was very good. We are going to return this week during our visit.

“Excellent food - Incredible Value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2014

We ate here twice during our 4-night visit to Jekyll Island and enjoyed both visits tremendously. Driftwood Bistro is an unusual place with an eclectic menu ... everything from meat loaf to Wild Georgia Shrimp and Grits. All entrees come in "petite" and "regular" sizes and the current prices are identical for every entree: $11.50 for petite; $14.50 for regular. The portions are generously sized and come with a wide variety of side dishes. (OG's Fried Okra is spectacular!) Thumbs up to the Stuffed Flounder, Shrimp and Grits and Shrimp Creole which we tried but I'd not be surprised to find the meat dishes equally as tasty.

The Shrimp Creole was particularly good with enough Creole kick to wake up the taste buds and mountains of succulent shrimp. You haven't lived until you've eaten really fresh shrimp, straight off the boat every day, and never frozen. They're not jumbo sized but they sure are succulent!

One of the most amazing things about Driftwood Bistro is it's wine list which includes a remarkably wide, surprisingly good selection of wines at $10 a bottle if ordered with dinner! Many of the names (Hogue for example) you will easily recognize. Others like Monkey Bay Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand may be less well known but are surprisingly good!

Service is friendly and excellent. Kudos especially to Augusta who served us with a smile on our second visit!

“Good, but not for when you are in a hurry”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2014

Food was good, service friendly, and very good with kids. But prepare to wait. We ordered 3 sandwiches and were there 1.5 hours. Talking to other people at our hotel and they had a similar experience. We almost missed our dolphin boat because of the delay. So be warned.
