My wife and I are on vacation in the area and after seeing the rave reviews we decided to try Big Al's. What a disappointment! We were greeted by a young woman in a sweatshirt that advised us we couldn't sit on one side of the dining room. Nice greeting! We asked about the pizza buffet and was advised they were waiting on more people to arrive (there were 8 people seated at 3 tables when we came in). Pizza finally arrives and it is a single medium size pizza. Really? For a buffet? Pizza was ok. Italian sausage topping was the same stuff that comes on frozen pizzas but overall it was ok for the price. We asked for a meatball pizza, as they take request, but no luck. One pizza came out with cheddar cheese and I asked the cook what it was and he replied "I don't remember. We are just throwing stuff together back there." Our waitress only checked back with us twice and we saw here throw a container of salad dressing across the table to another customer. Very professional! It gets better though. After we paid and walked out to the parking lot we saw the 2 cooks and the waitress all out back smoking together. In other words not one employee was in the restuarant to help the customers who now numbered about 14. Maybe we caught the place on a bad night for service but the pizza is average.
