Quiet, clean, friendly hotel. Very peaceful. Right in the middle of downtown. Nice breakfast. Has a pool, picnic tables and the river right out back. Lots of parking. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Pleasing decor. I would stay again. Fast Wi-Fi.

Room Tip: The rooms in back face the river and have balconies. No ground level floors.

We stopped over at Helen for 2 days and a night after we visited Atlanta. It seemed like most buildings were built in a German alpine village style, including the Hampton. Parking is below the hotel, and you have to take an elevator or the stairs to the lobby. The receptionist, along with all of the staff, were very nice. The room was large and clean, and had a good view of the Chattahoochee River (the river view room was $10 more). They have an outdoor pool, and it's near the river on the ground floor. There's some picnic tables by the river if you want to sit or have lunch by the river, which was nice. Overall, a very nice stay and would stay again if I was in Helen again!

The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was convenient to the shops and grocery store and it was fun to watch the tubers float down the Chattahoochee River. However, I rate the hotel as 'average' since the common areas (hallway carpets, elevator area, etc.) appeared to need a deep cleaning.

This Hampton Inn may be the best hotel in Helen, but it is not up to Hampton Inn standards. I reserved 3 rooms for two nights. Pros: The suites are large and the staff is friendly. Cons: There is perhaps a years worth of grime in the whirlpool controls in the bathroom. Most fireplaces don't work. There is years worth of dirt on the carpet behind the TVs. There is a coffin size bright white piece of particle board secured by 9 Phillips screws in most rooms where the old ac units were??? Maybe a sheet of wall paper would work nicely? There is either rust or mold on 90% of the ac/heater vents. Breakfast ends at 10 but eggs run out around 9:30 and are not replenished. The pool is small and freezing. The water fountain at the pool doesn't work. I pay more for Hampton to get more. I didn't get more here.

Accommodations and service were first rate. Rooms were well furnished and neat. Location was central to the area and very convenient. Overall ....very pleased with our stay. Would definitely recommend it.
