Love the racing, really fast. Hate the traffic. Take in a cooler, bring in lunch. Parking is directed & can only leave one way. RV parking.

Having toured many Nascar tracks, this was by far our most enjoyable experience. Oh it's a Bruton Smith track so it's pretty much the same routine as the other tracks he owns. The difference this time was our tour guide Jan. She was fabulous. Having lived in the area her whole life and being a Nascar fan she had plenty of stories to tell as we drove around the facility.

We did two laps of the track in the passenger van. She even did a pretend slow motion donut, waved to the crowd and grabbed the victory flag as though she had just won the race. Jan was very entertaining and if you are lucky enough to have her take you on a tour - I guarantee you will enjoy yourself.

The cost of the track tour is $5.00 per person. There is also a gift shop on site with plenty of items to choose from.

Great facility and easy location to access. Might just have to go back to watch a race there someday.

A NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race here in September 2010 for the Labor Day Weekend, got me not only here for the first time, but also to the city of Atlanta. It's about a 40 to 50 driving minutes from Downtown Atlanta to the race track, located near Hampton, Georgia. From Hartsfield-Atlanta International Airport (ATL) it is just 30-35 minutes away. All depending on traffic. As you may or may not know, there are a lot of big name hotels in both the airport and the downtown area, but there are hotels, inns, and motels in Jonesboro (15 minutes away), Morrow (25 minutes away), and Stockbridge (30 minutes away) too.

It has good in-and-out access with a good presence of police and emergency personnel around the track. We arrived around 11 in the morning and immediately started to walk around the souvenirs area in front of the main entrance. There were different areas like a drivers Q&A's, games, motorcrossing shows, sponsors booth and trailers, cars, etc. We got inside the track around 2 PM. The facilities and restrooms were very clean, specially for the amount of people that went to the race on Sunday on this 1.5 mile track. The only set back that I think this track has is that it doesn't have to many eating options.

Every employee that we encountered was courteous and helpful. We bought the Pit and Pre-Party Passes and were a little lost as to where the entrance was located, but with a little asking we found our way. We had the chance to walk and take pictures around the pit area with the crew members still working with their equipments. Then past 4 PM the cars started to come out of the garage area and into the pits. I took great pictures! I specially like one that my wife took of me with my favorite drivers ride, the #24 of Jeff Gordon. The Pre-Race Party started just after 5:30 PM and then the Drivers intro started right after. The race came to be about 7:30 PM and it went on close to midnight. Unfortunetely, my driver didn't win. He won this year (2011) though.

We spent about 10 to 11 hours in this track and had a great time and experience. We are actually looking foward to next years race, this time with our daughter, the next biggest NASCAR fan. A funny thing is that when we were heading back to our home from the airplane I cought a picture of the race track. From almost 10,000 feet!
