My daughter and I unfortunately did not stay here as we only found out about this place while we were staying elsewhere but did manage to get here for dinner and have a most amazing eating experience. From the start to the finish we would have to say it was faultless. The service was excellent but not in your face and the food was amazing. The staff recommended food to us which was just perfect. I believe the 2 chefs are twins which shows in the food and how well it is all put together. This place is definitely a must do when in this area and well worth the price which was very reasonable.

Thank you very much, we realy appreciate your compliments for our restaurant and our dishes.
My brothers, twin chefs, need many satisfaction from the guests to take new inspiration for their new dishes. You and your daughter absolutely will give your contribution in our restaurant.

Thanks a lot for your review, I hope to meeting you soon.

Kind regards,

Having landed in Rome we stayed for one night at this hotel on our way slightly further north. The hotel is just off the E45 which means the traffic can be heard but it also make it really convenient as a stopover and we could happily have stayed longer.

The reception was friendly and welcoming and our room was a good size. But the best things about this hotel were the lovely pool and the even better restaurant which serves really good Italian cuisine with great desserts. 3 courses, wine, coffee, other drinks and some delightful little extras set us back about 40 euros each - not cheap but still good value for Italy.

During the night the hotel was really quiet and we had a good night's sleep and left the next morning very refreshed. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Our room was at the back of the hotel and we couldn't hear the traffic.

Everything good that can be said about L'Antico Forziere has already been said by other reviewers - all that's left for me to add is that you don't have to be staying here to eat here. Its been our favourite restaurant for many years and they cater for weddings and birthday parties brilliantly too.

Family run, twin brothers as chefs and other brother as front of house. You get exceptional service of a personal nature you will be unlikely to find in corporate hotels. Have stayed here several times and been fortunate to eat here many times. In fact, I would suggest you are unlikely to find anywhere better to eat in Italy. It has consistently provided imaginative, perfectly balanced menus with outstanding food, all presented and served with finesse. Truly a place worthy of a detour. The rooms are small but nice, and the grounds good – close to main road means a little noise ingress but great, handy location for touring (Perugia close by). Worthy of a stay just to make the most of the evening meal and the small but perfectly chosen (and reasonably priced) wine list. For what it’s worth, one of our top 5 in the world places to go and eat. Not just us, check the Johansen Guide, they feel same way.
The restaurant deserves more of a mention. Nice terrace area, covered by awnings where you can sit in the Umbrian evenings. The wine list has a great choice of Italian wines, from reasonably priced Tomassi Amarone, a great Le Marche Lacrima (virtually impossible to get in UK) to more local Umbrian wines. The menu is relatively small and very carefully constructed. Starters are ornate but carefully proportioned so they balance with the mains. Puddings are a speciality with the collection comprising about 10 small tasters beautifully presented. The whole experience (for us) is just perfect and (reference other reviews) for us it is very relaxed, and not at all stuffy.

I found this hotel on Trip Advisor where it had received very good reviews for the accommodation and restaurant. It proved to be even better than the reviews.

If you want to experience an authentic slice of Italian life and hospitality, this is for you.

The food and wine in the restaurant is as good as you will find anywhere in the world and I look forward to going back to stay next year.
