This hotel pampers guests at every turn! From the gingerbread house display to the other decorations, it is a classy, warm holiday location. Smores in the firepit every evening and a relaxing lobby full of leather couches and a fireplace beckon guests to mingle and relax in the lodge setting. Keep up the good work!

Beautiful outside and in. The view is nice whether you face the lake or not, especially this time of year. You can walk the grounds, there are swings, chairs by the lake and firepit, infinity pool, "beach" and paths. Inside there is space to spread out next to fireplaces, starbucks, bar areas. This time of year decorated for holidays with ice skating, and lots of things for kids. Without kids, I spent time in the exercise area that has great views, an indoor pool with fireplace on one end and spa area with steam, sauna, whirlpool (with fireplace) and outdoor porch - SO RELAXING and you can enjoy at your own convenience and timeframe. Did not get spa services. On the way in there is a publix if needed. In addition to rooms, which were wonderful with great beds and bedding, there are cabins also. The room balconies do not have dividers so you may share the view with others that are sitting outside.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to have a great view.

It's the Ritz. Great rooms with a rustic/cabin feel. Large rooms and spacious bathrooms. Impeccable service. I suspect great golf course though I don't golf. I was there for a meeting. Wonderful accommodations. Greensboro is somewhat isolated so there is not much to do off the property. Is on a lake with boating available.

Room Tip: Probably can't go wrong anywhere.

This is a lovely "lodge" in the middle of nowhere on a beautiful lake and golf course. Great walking trails and amenities. Service was very good. Breakfast buffet was crowded on the weekend so we ordered off the menu and it was delicious. This was a girlfriend weekend spent talking, laughing and "spa-ing." Live music in the lobby at night was a great touch. This would be a fun place for family reunions.

The property grounds are beautiful and is situated around a lovely lake with a lot of potential. BUT, unfortuantely this hotel is a Ritz Carlton disappointment. The two rooms we had were not clean. The toilets were not clean .. disgusting! The shower faucet was not caulked to the tile and moved when you adjusted water temperature leaving a gaping hole behind the fixture. The construction noise (sanding of metal balcony railings) was so incredibly shrill and loud that I had a terrible headache the first morning. I did ask to be moved to a different room which was better, but that kind of noise radiates and I could still hear it. This was not a hotel visit to be enjoyed. On a good note, the employees were very kind and friendly. To be fair the whole resort is under new ownership and improvements will hopefully follow. Currently you will be disappointed if you are expecting a certain level that comes with the Ritz Carlton reputation.

Just getting to this review (so it's older than what is allowed to be marked below)...My husband took me here for our anniversary. I loved the feel of the place - upscale but not too stuffy. The infinity pool that overlooks the lake is awesome...and I love Ritz properties because you can always order food & alcohol at their pools and beaches, which is the same here. Awesome daiquiris...cute beach around one part of lake where you can order too. Very relaxing. Also love the smores they do in the evening around a big fire pit. The food was disappointing, thus why I didn't give it 5 stars. Gaby's by the Lake is very nice for atmosphere, and drinks are great, however the food was hardly better than Chilis, and of course, much more expensive. In fact, the only restaurant we liked is Georgia's Bistro. The food was original, good quality, and very tasty. Linger Longer's Steak was o.k., but again, not great - especially for the price. I don't at all mind spending a lot of $ on food it is worth it. We stayed in a regular room and it was only o.k. Kind of old and nothing fancy at all for $350 a night. Too, I wish they would put those "soft close shocks" on the doors because if you are trying to sleep late, every time some left their room, the doors closed very hard and this was most annoying! And I even sleep with a noise machine on the loudest setting with white noise and still heard the doors slamming...so this is something I wish they would address. Overall, if you have never been, definitely go. If you are food snobs, though, don't expect too much from the restaurants.

Room Tip: we got a room that overlooked the lake

Classic Ritz style on Lake Oconee. This resort, hands-down, has one of the best Ritz spa facilities. The body treatments and massages are pricey, but worth ever penny. Try a weekend package deal for a perfect get-away!
