This restaurant is in a very old building with a ton of atmosphere. It was heavily damaged several years ago by a tornado and they have rebuilt it to almost the exact way it was before the storm.
The range of food is good and delicious with great salads, sandwiches and Blue Plate Specials. The prices seemed a little high for a small restaurant but Greensboro, Ga. IS a tourist destination of sorts. Appetizer was a trio of fried goodies. Fried green tomatos, Fried Pickles, and Fried Okra.
Nice horseradish sauce for them too.

Took my Mom here on Mother's Day, she had been before, liked it and it was one of a few places open for Mother's Day. They had a llimited, fixed menu (probably to get people in and out quickly) which was OK but the quality and portions were very disappointing. And talk about over priced! $8.99 for a meat/2 sides/cornbread slice. What a rip-off.

We all ordered the country fried steak and when it arrived, I looked at it hoping it tasted better than it looked. I was wrong. Very bland, small piece, with OK gravy. This meat (I think it was meat), and the 2 side dishes tasted like they came straight from a school cafeteria and were the size of a small child's palm. Nothing like getting an order of mashed potatoes that was obviously dished out with an ice cream scoop. And to make it worse, it was so crowded that people were forced to stand anywhere they could (raining outside) and the place was definitely designed to handle the crowd that was there that day. I know that the restaurant owners can't control that, but to have someone standing next to your booth with their backside in your face while you are trying to eat was disconcerting and downright aggrevating!

I had heard good things about this place but after our experience there, I have no plans on returning.

The Cafe may be the only restaurant in town so its the place to be and see the touristis and people of Greensborough. The wait staff was very friendly, prompt and attentive. We had a shrimp plate and a burger - both outstanding. But the real treat was the desert - Buttermilk Pie. If for no other reason go to the Cafe for the Pie, Coffee and to people watch - you won't be dissapointed.

Nice place to stop for a bite when shopping in Eatonton. It is friendly, clean and the food has always been good. We have stopped here several times and never been dissappointed. The decor goes well with the Eatonton downtown.
