We stayed here while husband rode in Six Gaps 100-mile bike ride in Dahlonega, 22 miles away. What a nice room...but unfortunately the road makes a great deal of noise. Bring earplugs and you won't notice the road noise. Front desk graciously agreed to move us across the hall at the earliest opening. Rooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated. The staff is WONDERFUL, everything in the room worked, and it really WAS a non-smoking room. WiFi connection is very fast. Definitely I would stay here again, but on the pool side of the building.

I went to Gainesville, GA to visit a childhood friend that is very ill. I was extrememy surprised at the quality of this hotel. It was clean, compfortable and had a great mattress. As I traveled alone, I was cautious...but felt very safe. Safety was my main concern. If I get back to Gainvesville, I would not stay at another hotel. It was top notch for this city!

Forget what you know about Holiday Inn (guaranteed mediocracy), this place is wonderful. Not as compared to a 5 star hotel, but for a place to spend a night or two or three, it's way above anyone in its price range. The breakfast buffet is huge, and excellent food. Downtown Gainesville is very quiet at night, so don't let the downtown location bother you. We have stayed there several different times, during house hunting trips and on vacation, and have always enjoyed our stay.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn for the second time after having a pleasant experience about a couple of months prior.

This time the room we were given (Room 203) was not in very good shape. There were stains on the bedding. Multiple stains on the tables furniture. the shower had mold around the caulking and the toilet tissue holder was broken off. The room was also had mold and bug residue on the in-room A/C unit fins. Didn't sleep well after seeing the A/C unit because all night I couldn't stop thinking about bed bugs creeping out of it!!!!

Outside of the room, everything was still a positive as had been in my previous stay. Just this time the room was very very bad!

I might try the newer looking Hilton Garden Inn down the street since I will be returning to Gainesville, GA frequently.

This hotel was pretty good for the price. The front desk staff were very nice. The breakfast was great and the restaurant staff were courteous. When we first entered our room it was obvious that the room was clean but there was a bad musty odor and it was very hot. Once we turned on the A/C the smell seemed to get better. The window was open and hard to close but the room cooled off once we shut it. The longer we were there the smell either went away or we became accustom to it. There was no room service menu in the Hotel Information Book so we had to call down for one and the housekeeping staff forgot to leave towels when they cleaned so we had to call for them as well. Yet the room was clean, the pool was clean, there was free wireless internet, and the staff were nice. I can't say I was too disappointed.

I was traveling with my daughter, and my teenage grand-daughter, coming from Fl. on Spring break. We were exhausted, and saw the ad on a billboard, and took a chance. We were pleasantly surprised, and grateful for finding this hotel. It started at the check in desk with the most wonderful and courteous people, to the rooms, and the breakfast the next morning. The rooms were beautiful, clean, comfortable beds, and the breakfast was a complete buffet, with great food. Nice to find a place to rest comfortably, on an otherwise stressful trip.

We were in town for a symposium at the Georgia Mountain Center. We didn't realize it, but this hotel is directly across the street. It was wonderful, because my husband could walk across the street to his meetings and I could keep the car. The front desk people were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and had a very nice bathroom. Even though our room faced a fairly busy street, it was really quiet. The gym was nice, with 2 treadmills and a TV. A full breakfast buffet was included with your room, with a large selection of cereal, some fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, hash browns and a person to cook omelets to order or waffles. There was a server to bring you coffee, tea or whatever beverage you prefer. The server was extremely friendly and was a great way to start your day. The wi fi worked great too!
