After reading some negative reviews of this newest of Georgia State parks we decided to try camping here anyway and found it to be a wonderful campground. It is well set up for today's camper who largely camp in some sort of vehicle, large or small. The sites are paved with a gravel area for table, fire pit with grill, and lantern post. A very beneficial extra that we had not experienced before was a filtered in-ground area for gray water disposal. The sites are well placed with many drive through sites and easy access for back-in sites. Also many sites are suitable for tents. The camp site fringes and sides of the roads are covered with mulch in keeping with the natural feeling of the park as well as protection from the red Georgia clay in wet weather. The park personnel were pleasant and helpful, the grounds were well kept, and the entire park was an enjoyable place to be. There are many trails throughout the park for hiking and some paved for biking. We enjoyed the campground and the park so much that we extended our visit 3 more nights, and plan to return during our next trip to Georgia.
