Stelios is a unique person with love for life and cooking, and this spirit you can see, smell and taste in his food! When you visit Ntounias, take your time as we will produce to you to taste our plates, which are different every day. “i will miss this place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2014

A friend took us to this restaurant which we probably would have not found by ourselves, hidden in the mountains. It was by far one of the best experiences in Crete and can even say one of the best meals i've had.Simple, natural setting with a beautiful view, surrounded by nature. No hurry,no worries.Just enjoy the magnificent home-made food (recommend asking to try a bit of everything) and a glass of wine. The lovely family who runs the place who make you feel at home.i will miss this place..Only problem is that you need a car to get there, but its worth it,believe me!for a romantic meal, with friends, the whole family, celebrations, anything! And the price is more than reasonable.

“Experience is worth the drive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2014

We drove with our scooter here one evening and can say it was worth the drive! You walk into the kitchen to see what's been prepared. You should be open minded and ask for a mix of what's available. The food is made with time and heart. The service is authentic and caring. It's just simply a lovely place with excellent food.

To drive back to Chania in the night is an experience itself. What a view!

“Best most authentic experience in all of Greece!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2014 via mobile

This is always our first stop in Crete. Gorgeous drive up Theriso gorge; have traveled to 30+ countries and this is our favorite spot--food, people and experience are amazing. All local organic slow cooked and visually pristine. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. We are almost afraid to tell anyone about it because it is so pristine that we would love it to remain this way!!

“The real deal - off the tourist trail and special”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2014

After a spectacular drive up the Therisso gorge we arrived at this sleepy village. Ntounias is a real find. We were invited in to see the choice of food in the kitchen -there is a huge oven and we saw ceramic dishes crammed with delicious food. The bread is amazing - home made and absolutely divine. We had it warm with some olive oil. The owner and his wife are charming. The eating area is over the road from the building, open air, shaded and with a spectacular view down towards the coast, Kalives area. Also a lovely breeze. In fact we loved it so much we visited a second time a few days later - this time driving up into the mountains a different way via Gerolakos. The food and views are amazing. And it's great value for money.

“A different type of restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2014

If you want to try a restaurant that is completely different from what you are used to, then this is the right place. The owner will invite you into his kitchen an show you what´s cooking. The atmosphere is relaxed and the price is very fair. But the most important thing is that the food is excellent. This was a very nice experience. Thanks, Stelios!
