“Really helpful and welcoming hotel”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

We stayed here for a night on our way to our Vila in the Chianti region. This hotel isn't too far from Siena if you're driving
Really nice, clean, helpful staff, very good value for money and lovely views of Tuscany in the gardens.
Would definitely stay here again

Do not take the four stars as what the British understand four stars to mean.
It has facilities sauna pool gym etc. but they didn't seem to be open.
Its clean but very average. More like a travelodge.
The beds were extremely hard, we had trouble sleeping. I would not return.

It is a Shame that we loved this hotel, after 6 years we returned and it was exactly the same, ( not good ) it has aged and nothing has been updated. No Internet in rooms, you need to go to the lobby. A/C in rooms Suck Bad !
Service,,, eh

Room Tip: Nice pool though!

OK, first of all, you need a car if you are going to stay here. It's not walking distance to anything. if you do have a car, the parking is free - so that's nice.

The decor of this hotel is modern.. but it's really showing signs of aging. Must have been pretty swanky a few years ago and now it's looking pretty sad. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good. The beds were atrocious. It felt like sleeping on a bag of bricks.

The thing that annoyed me about this place is that they advertised wifi in the rooms and of course there was no wifi in the rooms. Normally, this isn't such a big deal, but we rented a car and were trying to plan our routes via the Internet. This was an impossible task, because as I mentioned there was no wifi in the room and the lobby wifi barely worked. The staff didn't seem to care about this issue.

I definitely would not stay here again.

My partner and I have just returned from a 15 day holiday in Tuscany and found the hotel an excellent base for travelling around this beautiful part of Italy. We had originally booked a standard room but on arrival we were upgraded to an apartment. The room was clean and spacious as were the public areas. A car is a necessity as the hotel is around 9 km from Siena but it is in a lovely peaceful setting which suited us.

The hotel is situated about 10 km far from Siena, near the Siena-Bettolle freeway (exit: "Casetta Monteaperti"), where the road runs through the valley of Arbia river. It is therefore in a suburban location, limited in practice to those traveling by car. However, the hotel itself fully deserves its four stars: located in a low-rise building (only two floors), it shows a modern and elegant style, both in the common areas and in the rooms. The rooms themselves are impeccable, the food is commendable, as regards both the dinner and breakfast.

Stayed in this hotel as we had trouble booking anything else in the area and had already booked our flights to Pisa. As we had our two teenage sons with us it wasn't a great success as there really wasn't much to do either at the hotel or in the surrounding area. Thankfully we had hired a car so we did visit a few vineyards and the odd restaurant but we had to travel some distance on each occasion as the hotel was rather remote.
Unfortunately we didn't have any cooking facilities and the hotel didn't serve lunch so again that was an issue. We enquired about this a few times and on the day before we left they started serving burgers and chips at the pool at lunchtime which was a blessing but came a little too late for us.
The evening meals in the restaurant were limited choice wise and really over priced I'm afraid. I don't think we ate once for under £100 for the 4 of us. But as there was only one very basic cafe/restaurant within walking distance we hadn't much choice but to eat in the hotel as we didn't want to drive every evening.
The hotel was clean and tidy but not luxurious and we did pay quite a lot for our stay. Other guests were only staying for one or two nights which would have been fine especially as it was quite a good location for a visit to Siena.
We wouldn't return to this hotel because of the lack of things to do and the remote location but it wasn't a disaster, the Tuscan countryside is as always amazing.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have balconies and some look over surrounding houses with washing and dogs etc. Avoid...
