I stayed here from 3/8-3/9 to attend a wedding at another hotel in Reynold's Plantation. This property is not far from the freeway. There are fast food restaurants nearby as well as a restaurant next door. The rooms were clean and they had nice smelling Bath & Body works products in the restroom. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room had a view of the lake & was affordable even though we booked too late to use the wedding guest discount.

We stayed here one night and chose it because they allow pets. On their Website it says they allow pets for an additional fee. BE AWARE>>> although it does not say so on the site, the FEE is $$$50!!!!! This is NOT a deposit, its a fee. And in booking online there is no place to check off that you are bringing pets, to determine the fee in advance. This is a serious rip off for a hotel that already charges $120 per night plus lots of taxes, for a sliver view of the muddy back corner of the lake and a small back garden area. Old tired decor, pillows like little rocks, Tube TV's, NO food services, save for a small breakfast in the morning, and no in room ability to cook. And there is little food nearby, so be prepared to drive back to Eatonton when you want to eat. Don't stay here, you can do better.

I appreciate you taking the time to write e review on the hotel .I looked up your registration card that you initialed and signed at check in which clearly states that the pet fee for your stay was $50.00. So, I don't understand why you were surprised at check out. Sorry for the miss understanding and hope that you will return again soon.

While the girl that checked me in was very sweet and pleasant, the guy that works at night turned your lodge into a party outside. Called the front desk a few times and never got a answer. Come to find out he was outside. Not only was he smoking but also had a bottle of beer in his hand. Where is that ok?? This is unacceptable at any job. Was so disgusted that I never even asked for what I needed and just went back to my room.
Overall I was satisfied by the hotel it's self, but this employee........ Not so much!!!

I feel that you may have mistaken my front desl clerk for one of 100 Mississippi Power linemen that were staying at the hotel last week. They were fixing 146,000 outages in the area. Each evening some of them had beers and a smoke and outside the hotel entrances.. I am so very sorry that you were inconvenienced. I do hope that you will return soon so that we can show you true customer service.

During the middle of the week we learned of the unfortunate death of a family member in Buckhead, Georgia. Planning on attending the funeral, we began looking online for hotels in the area. Most seemed to be booked up due to a math conference at Rock Eagle, GA, the state 4-H camp. Finally, we found a vacancy at The Lodge on Lake Oconee, Eatonton, GA. While the Lodge was a little farther from Buckhead than we had liked, it turned out to be a great accommodation in a beautiful lake setting on the edge of Lake Oconee, GA. The front desk staff was extremely accommodating and expressed their condolences in our family member loss. We encountered a slight problem when initially entering our suite (upgraded at the compliments of the hotel staff), the bathroom floor was wet. We called the front desk who immediately dispatched a staff member to dry the floor for us. Later, we surmised that the shower curtain was too short, allowing water from the shower to spill onto the floor. We reported the problem and our recommendation solution to the front desk staff as we departed for the funeral home and the service. The front desk staff quickly offered to switch us to another room, but since we were checking out the next day, we declined the offer. However, when we returned to our room that evening, the staff had taken our advice and remedied the problem by installing a longer shower curtain. The front desk staff advised that because we had reported the problem and offered a suggestion on how to fix the problem, they had surveyed some of their other rooms and found the same problem that they also fixed. Each staff member we spoke with neither offered excuses or reasons why our problem wasn't their fault; rather they quickly looked into the matter and fixed the problem to our complete satisfaction. We will certainly keep the Lodge on our list of first rate accommodations when visiting with family in that area in the future.

Wanted to stay at the Ritz but it was $125 more a night than the Lodge- next time I won't be so cheap. Maybe for a family with small children and a limited budget this place would be okay, but not for most. The lobby is dated, the vending machines didn't work and the staff, while extremely friendly, had trouble answering basic questions. All that would be acceptable if the rooms weren't so awful. The only good thing about them is they are large. The carpet is old, stained in spots. The bathroom was also old, not super clean, and and had peeling paint and brown water stains in the ceiling. The TV was the next step above black and white
