It had been a couple of years since I last ate at the Rexall Grill but it hadn't changed a bit. Friendly employees, large tables full of locals, neighbors chatting across the aisle. The menu board on the wall lists the days offerings and is full of comfort foods. This is in addition to the printed menu which lists the usual diner fare. I had a cheeseburger with a side of hash browns. My husband had a barbecue pork sandwich. We both left there satisfied.
This is a friendly place and if you're in the area treat yourself to a bit of Southern hospitality and plateful of meatloaf, greens and Mac n cheese. All washed down with sweet tea of course.

Soooo Good. I visit this place every time I visit family in Duluth. Well prepared country fried chicken and all the fixens. Plus a wonderfull soda fountain menu. Very casual in a country store type atmosphere. Have not had breakfast here yet, but looks real good. don't miss this place. great nostagia.

A southern institution in Duluth. One part diner, one part retro drugstore decorated with old Atlanta photos and Coke collectibles from yesteryear..A lot of locals go here for the down home atmosphere. Very good made- to -order southern comfort food from breakfast, burgers, soups, etc. However, I go for the perfect pan fried Fried Chicken and delicious Meatloaf days. The menu changes daily and fresh veggies always like okra, brunswick stew, etc.Top it off with the awesome biscuits, cornbread, and sweet tea! and if room banana puddin' or slice of pie.

The Rexall has probably been around forever because you get the feeling that if past ghosts walked in nothing will have changed. It's vintage with clean floors and tables. The plates are plastic, the coffee cups don't match and the napkins are paper with an extra roll of paper towels on the table. But, the new chef makes biscuits from heaven. Perfectly cooked eggs over easy with bacon and grits [you Yankees need to try them] and a side of sausage gravy will have you patting your tummy and smiling out the door, Unfortunately, for real coffee lovers, this is a weak spot here. So drink some before you come in and have the juice instead. Those biscuits and eggs are sure worth it.

Recent health score 80.
This former Rexall drugstore remains true to its heritage, as a sort of drug and general store shares the property with a pretty good diner.
The decor can only be described as both nostalgic and eclectic - OK, kitschy.
The large diner-style menu (breakfast and lunch) is supplemented by a variety of daily meat-and-2 specials. Between us we enjoyed very good hamburger steak, mac and cheese, green beans, cabbage and coconut cake. The fried shrimp were good but not a standout.
The service was very good.
Recommended.
