I needed to do some shopping in this area and so I chose this hotel. The hotel has a fair amount of green space around it so it doesn't seem like it is directly off of a busy interstate, but it is. I was greeted as a Marriott awards member and an upgrade was offered without my having to ask for it. I always appreciate folks at reception who do that. Directions were clear to my junior suite and the hotel lobby was large with a good vibe. On the way from the car I had noted people sitting at tables on the patio outside of one of the hotel restaurants--perhaps Buttons is its name? There is a JW's in the hotel as well and I am not sure of the name of the third. There were a mix of business people and guests for a wedding. Overall, a friendly, smiling crew. My room was on the 5th floor and it was very large with a sofa, coffee table and desk as well as the king bed, Tv stand, small bench seat at foot of bed and an additional chair. The bathroom had a separate area for the sinks and the toilet and tub shared space in a "cave". I call it that because the light switch for this room was in the sink area and when I got up in the night I could not find it. Not good. No night light. I really would have appreciated some sort of dim light in the bathroom or at least a switch for light. There was a robe and in addition to the usual shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap there was a nice sewing kit--one of those with pre-threaded needles in an assortment of colors and Q-tips ands cotton balls. There were magazines in the room--another thing I appreciate. While I am familiar with this area, one of the things I appreciate while traveling is something that helps me as a traveler to become more quickly acquainted with the area. So they get points for that! I ordered room service breakfast and they lose points by not giving me any butter for my pancakes. I was hungry and had waited slightly beyond the thirty minutes they had told me when I placed the order so I did not complain. I just used the syrup. The food was good.
My other concern was that I was asleep when the guest in the room next to mine came in. She was talking loudly on what must have been a cellphone because I only heard one voice but I heard her conversation like she was in the room. It was starrling at first.
Thankfully, she was on the call only about twenty minutes. SO, service was good.except for lack of butter and I liked the hotel but not the noise. I will stay there again for sure if the price is right and will hope that my experience will not be repeated. Parking is free here which is another plus.
This hotel is near the "koreatown" area of metro Atlanta and has a great Super H mart for asian foods. There is a great Korean BQ place recently mentioned in Food & Wine magazine called the Honey Pig that I highly recommend.
