“Romantic - high quality, great menu, nice to get intown feel without the drive”
Reviewed February 20, 2012

We both had steak which was excellent, with pommes frites and cauliflaur sides - enough leftovers for another full meal the next day. Service was good, except our server seemed to know everyone and kept leaving us to say hello to others which got a little annoying. Will definitely go back to try some of the french specialties on the menu. Had a great meal with a great bottle of wine - definitely a special occassion place, it's not cheap!

“Good food and great service but better options in the area for the $$”
Reviewed January 25, 2012

This is a very nice restaurant but appeals to people with much finer tastes and deeper pockets than me. The decor is lovely and unique but not cozy, it's a very open setting without booths or any solid separation between the tables. This is nice if you want to check out all the other people, but not if you desire a quiet and private experience. The food was delicious - we had the fondue appetizer, duck le'orange (pls forgive me for the spelling), beef filet and bananas foster. Problem is I'm just as happy with the food at the Super-H food court...but that's just me. If you're looking for a very unique and fine dining experience this is your place.

“Simply oustanding...worth the experience”
Reviewed January 4, 2012

Ok..so this is "Duluth"...more chain restaurants than anyone cares to admit. TRY Viande Rouge. Worth the visit from all parts of Atlanta...Buckhead / Midtown quality in the suburbs! First...great staff. Service was not comprised. In fact, less Buckhead attitude, matched by great food.

Starts with fairly eccentric wine list...worth studying before you arrive. Many selections worth exploring. We went with a Malbec that I have been dying to try. Appetizer selection was diverse enough although we went with a simple spinach salad. The dressing was made AT THE TABLE, fired up table side to sauté in the bacon and mushrooms. Great presentation matched by great taste.

For entrées, we selected the Kobe Strip and the Cod. For Kobe lovers, the selection was reasonably priced compared to NY or Vegas. My wife loved it. I thought the Cod was flavorful as well.

Ordered the bananas foster for dessert. Again, fired up table side! Nicely done to perfection..not grainy. They also use a gelato from a local vendor, which was a nice touch.

All in all, a great choice to have in north Fulton. Worth the vist...

“Outstanding”
Reviewed November 21, 2011

Have been to all the cookie-cutter steakhouses (Ruths Chris, Bones, Chops, Stoney River, etc.), but this is in a completely different league. Viande Rouge has a fantastic menu, and friendly service in an intimate setting.

We have been three times, and will make this a regular stop. Wife always gets a steak, and claims it to be the best around. I've had the beef bourguignon, sole and duck, and they are all tremendous. The wine list is extensive enough, and the staff is always helpful and knowledgeable.

If you want the impersonalized cookie-cutter, average steakhouse experience, there is a Stoney River right down the street.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed October 19, 2011

Next time I will go to Chops, Bones, Ruth's Chris or Morton's. I have never been so disappointed in an expensive restaurant! The lobster bisque had a strong carmel flavor void of lobster or cream. The hash browns were very salty. The crested lamb chops tasted very "lambie" (wild) without seasoning. The fried lobster tail tasted farm raised, no sweetness or taste of the lobster ( more like unseasoned bland fish). Companion said steaks were good, but they have had better. The best thing was the ride home!
