“Excellent Food”
Reviewed March 17, 2014 via mobile

This place is extremely crowded and popular. I went on a Thursday night and I was able to bypass the crowd when a seat opened at the bar. I had an order of fried crab cakes, a half order of crawfish etouffe, and a 32oz Sweetwater 420. I loved every bite and the beer was ice cold. The bartender was very friendly. My only complaints would be it needs a good cleaning. And there should be a better waiting area.

“Great food! Get there early for a table”
Reviewed March 6, 2014

This is a great restaurant. Be aware that the food here is spicy!!! They are open for lunch 11-2 and again at 5 for dinner everyday except Sunday and Monday. If you want to get seated immediately, you must get there BEFORE 5pm otherwise it is a wait... everyday. The place is not large and it is packed everyday. This is because the food is so good. The only downside of this restaurant is the price. Meals start around 8.99 for gumbo and shrimp of crawfish ettouffee (sic). However, their signature meals like shrimp and grits and fresh fish ponchatrain as well as their ribeye (not to be missed) is between 19.99 and 26.99. Be aware!! It is definitely not cheap to eat here but the atmosphere is great. The servers are fast and friendly and the food is fantastic!!
Also note, the restaurant is located on Main Street (Hwy 78) in Douglasville, Georgia. There is parking out front but not much. There is a parking deck at the Douglasville Conference center which serves the area and parking is free. It is one block behind the restaurant. It is about a 5 minute walk to the restaurant. It is well lit and the walk is easy and safe.

“Best food in West GA”
Reviewed March 5, 2014 via mobile

My taste buds were excited when entering the front door. The smells told them something awesome was waiting. After dinner was over, I thought if I died right now, I'd be a very happy guy.
This restaurant must be on your bucket list!!

“Not New Orleans but decent”

All the sides and Gumbeau start tasting the same. Just go for the red beans and rice with blackened chicken

“Great Cajun Atmosphere”
Reviewed February 26, 2014 via mobile

At a conference in downtown Douglasville at the conference center. Several dining choices within walking distance and Gumbeaux's is one of them. Great menu, tons of great specials available, and reasonably priced. Ordered Blackened shrimp and grits with a spoonful of crawfish etoufe on top. It also came with garlic bread and a side. Lots of shrimp in a big bowl of grits plus the sides. Needless to say I couldn't eat it all! Great service and great food. I totally understand if there's wait!
