Not that I'm an expert, but Gumbeaux is the best you can get in west Georgia (so far).
I am fortunate enough to be able to eat lunch there once a month or so and have found everything tasty, spicy and filling!
I really like the chef's specials!
Word to the wise: get there early!
If you want to get in for lunch, be there between 11:30 and 12 weekdays or you will wait quite a while!

I'm not a seafood eater but this doesn't stop me from loving this local establishment. Large portions of freshly prepared food. Most of it is spicy hot so if you don't like spicy go for a steak or burger.

The diner wasn't very appealing but the food was worth the stop in. I ate the fried green tomatoes and loved those. The fried catfish was average but not bad. The cream corn was pretty good too. The crab cakes were on the small side and you only get two of those.

We love Gumbeaux's for lunch or dinner. Expect spicy for most items on the menu. It it usually loud and racous and feels like Mardi Gras is going on while you eat. The decor is definitely "local Cajun". The food is some of the best cajun I've had outside of New Orleans when I used to travel there on business. It's the real deal. Portions are huge. Don't miss the bananas foster, whatever you order. Thiis one of our local "go to often" choices for dining and has been consistent for the last seven years that we know. All of our repeat guests always request to go back to this restaurant when they come for a visit.

Haven't eaten here in a couple of years and was glad to find the food was still very good! Introduced a couple of newbies to Gumbeaux's and they loved the food! The crab cakes were delicious, the blackened chicken was moist, and the Fish Ponchartrain was yum! The peanut butter pie was light with the right amount of peanut butter. Gumbeaux's is still a cajun favorite!
