I have visited the Dillard House many times. It seems that the quality of the food is not the same as it was 20 years ago. The cost for a lunch is $20.95. However I had a great lunch (the strawberry cobbler was wonderful) and brought enough food home to have a couple more meals.

set menu, family style, all you could eat. We got rolls, coleslaw, and tomato salad. Then came 2 kinds of chicken, pork and ham with 9 side vegetables including rice, cabbage casserole, 2 kinds of beans, corn on the cob, carrots, stuffing, okra, and something I forgot. I had milk, Jan- tea and a choice of blackberry cobbler or coconut cream pie for desert. The total, before the discount was $42.50 and after was $27.50. We have enough left over to fill two doggy containers and feed us all day tomorrow and maybe Saturday.

The Dillard House is quite well-known in the area. There is a restaurant which serves family-style meals, meaning that there is no menu but each table is served several meats and locally grown vegetables. There is always more food than you can eat. The restaurant contains a large gift shop offering jellies, stoneground grits, country ham, cookbooks, and various souvenir items. The restaurant sits atop a hill overlooking a valley where produce is grown and the Nacoochee School for the Deaf. The views are beautiful.

The property also is a hotel with various places to stay--the original Dillard home which is the stone house with small, traditional rooms and baths, a motel with rooms that have outside entrances where there is a pool and I believe there may also be a tennis court, and a few cottages. These accommodations are located next to the restaurant.

There is a small farm area where you can view and pet farm animals and horseback riding is available. In warm weather, there are sometimes performances of different types in a building behind the restaurant.

I enjoyed our meal. There was enough food for another person. I wish we could have taken the leftovers with us, but we were too far from home. Service was great! We will definitely be back soon!! We were there for Sat lunch at 2pm. They serve lunch tl 3. All the meats and vegetables plus dessert was great. Cornbread was a little dry, but not terrible. Biscuits were great.

Ate there for Lunch & Breakfast. Food was very good. Friendly service & very attentive to our needs.
I would love to return during dinner time to see how that experience would be. Looking for to doing that.
