Decided last minute to head up to Amicalola Falls from Atlanta today. We haven’t been here in many years and it was so nice to be back. We walked up the stairs to the platform and had to walk the rest of the way up on the path. Our dog couldn’t handle the steps..hurt her paws. Once were were at the top of the falls we took the trail down and we loved it! Our dog was happier and the kids loved it. It was a great family hike!

This park was amazing. We loved the falls, but we started at the top and walked our way down. We were able to stop along the way for some amazing pictures. We were very happy to have made the trip to Amicalola Falls.

Very nice trail up to falls on a shaded path. It is however strenuous. You have the option to drive up to the falls, park and have a more level walk to falls.
Restaurant in the lodge is OK for lunch or dinner. Nice view looking south.
