We were visiting on a day where the Ranger had a vulture, bald eagle and raccoon to share with the children. Plus many snakes and a adorable baby owl. We had such a great time hearing about each.... We also bought a snack and got a few interesting things. keychain and book about trails. We then played on the playground then traveled to the falls. It was quit the hike carrying a little one as we went along. Little ones could not make it all the way up by themselves.

We love the Falls so much, we considered getting married there! There are endless steps but they're worth the climb. The view is spectacular and there is a restroom at the top. It's a great workout and a stress relieved. Tip - stop at The Tomato House on your way home (in Dahlonega). They have the best bottled cider.

I went there on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Parking is 5 bucks, and if there are spots available, it's right next to the Visitor Center. When you ask for info about how to see the falls, the lady in the center would probably tell you first go to the top of the fall via a natural and rocky trail right behind the center, and then there are several hundreds of metal steps to go downstairs to see the base of the fall. I followed those instructions and it took me about half an hour to walk to the top. The scene at the top was okay. It took me another 15 minutes to go downstairs. The fron tview of the fall was amazing and there were people gathering there taking pictures. Then there's another 20 minutes' walking to the parking lot.

I would suggest you can drive to the top and walk down to see the fall front then walk back to where you park your car or you can do what I did but the first half was quite tiring.

The scene must be even more beautiful when leaves start to change color. Go at that time!

Restaurant served great food, but a bit on the pricey side. The hotel is very nice with great picture views of the mountains.
