We recently stayed with Jan and Bill along with another couple for four days. Wish it could have been longer. Such a peaceful location. The rooms are clean and very comfortable and have great views of the marsh. Breakfast was always a treat. Jan and Bill are wonderful hosts as well as their welcoming committee consisting of one dog and three cats. Plenty to do in the area.

We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Heron Inn. Very comfortable accommodations, a wonderful breakfast to start the day and good conversation at the fireplace to end the day. Very well located just 1 hour south of Savannah and the city of Darien is lovely. Sapelo island should not be missed.

Room Tip: The room on the 3rd floor has the best view but has a funky means of access and shares a bathroom wi...

We only stayed one night, but I wished we had stayed longer. We liked everything about the place. We had a spacious room with a view of the marsh and an outdoor patio. The grounds were funky and fun. Bird feeders, three docks, veggie garden, roaming pets. Had a comfortable and welcoming feel. Breakfast was delicious, and I have a gluten and dairy allergy that they handles very well. They even had a gluten free cookbook. Jan and Bill were warm, gracious and generous. We hope to come back and sit at their fire pit and talk longer with them some time soon.

Peaceful accommodations plus amazing food plus wonderful hospitality equals relaxation. The breakfast were amazing and we were even treated to an item that was not on the original plan. Thank you so much for the Keylime French toast. The rooms were clean and comfortable and had wonderful views of the marsh and associated wildlife. It was also conveniently located near of the natural and historical attractions of the area. Wonderful vacation and we hope to return soon.

This is a great place for peace and bird watching. All of the rooms overlook the marsh and offer spectacular views. It is a paradise for bird watching, kayaking, just sitting on the porches, and an artist's dream. The hosts, Jan and Bill, are delightful and have all details covered. We learned all about the history of the area while sipping wine with them in front of the beautiful fireplace.

We could not have been more pleased and surprised to find this great get-a-way on the Georgia coast. My wife and I booked privately and we were pleased instantly with the personal care given to us via email confirmation and phone calls.

Jan and Bill are two great hosts with interesting friends and family members. They work hard to make sure you feel welcome in their B&B, and the details pay off. Both have engaging personalities and are sincerely interested in your interests. Jan's a great cook; Bill is a great host. Five o'clock wine and cheese is not to be missed...the second night they added steamed clams.

We booked a room with a private balcony over the marsh. Jan knew it was my birthday weekend, and when we returned from an excursion on Saturday, she had birthday cake waiting on us in our room.

Breakfast was a real treat, with fresh fruit, juices, and excellent breakfast entrees each morning.

We are looking forward to a return trip in warmer weather when we can enjoy the property outdoors a bit as well.

Room Tip: If you want a purely private balcony, ask for the Seafarer room. The other balconies are not exclus...

My husband and I absolutely loved the Blue Heron Inn. A bit of paradise!
We were met with a glass of wine, retired to our room with a view of the sunset, received
great recommendations for dinner, arose to the sunrise and the best waffles ever!!
The open fireplace was so inviting and the conversation with Bill and Jan just seemed to flow.
Thanks so much! We will be back next year!
