Best and juiciest shrimp ever and fantastic oysters. Was looking for a place locals frequent and was rewarded with a fantastic experience.

This restaurant was recommended to us or we would not have tried it. Not the kind of appearance to appeal to the typical tourist,, But then, this is not a tourist restaurant. It is indeed a local restaurant with wonderful food. The fried oysters and fried shrimp were perhaps the best we have ever had.

We spent our time in the area of Jekyll and St. Simon's Islands, sampling restaurants along the way. B&J's exceeded any of the rest, including the on-the-dock restaurants that are at the top of the lists. It's a small restaurant 20 minutes inland with limited atmosphere and not much decor, but they make up for that with really superb food. Given the reviews here, we ordered both off the menu and from the buffet. Our experience was that both were equally good; the buffet was not inferior that night. Highlights of the buffet included shrimp in several forms, scallops, catfish, blackened cajun tilapia, low-country-boil-style corn and potatoes. There's a salad bar and a couple desserts, but those are very standard fare. We also opted for an AYCE add-on of crab legs, and were quite surprised to find them superior as well. The food and service were excellent, and this is the only restaurant in the area that I put on my "must return" list. I recommend B&J's highly.

Shrimp boats docked down the street and the seafood was fresh off the boats! Great variety and plenty of everything for just over $20! Lightly battered fish, shrimp, calamari plus peel your own boiled shrimp, crab cakes and more. Desserts were available but I did not have any room after the delicious buffet. Seemed to be the locals favorite and now mine! Crowded and long wait, but worth it!

It's the IT place to eat in the area. Great value for the buffet especially on Wednesdays and Thursday considering the variety of food. Always packed. At there three times in two days. Oysters are delicious. Warning though..........much of the specialties are fried.
