In our little area of Dallas/New Hope/Crossroads, we have several options for Mexican food. The most consistent, excellent experience is Los Magueys (we lovingly mispronounce it as "Mah Gooeys" in our house). Magueys has a pretty standard menu for Atlanta Mexican with a few special dishes and dips thrown in that are worth trying. There is inside and outside seating including a covered outdoor area with a bar. When weather permits (even rain), I highly recommend the outside seating. The service is usually quite good and the servers are all friendly. They do have a tendency to get very busy from time to time, so you should definitely not try to walk in at peak dinner hour on a Friday/Saturday and expect immediate seating. I have also found (as with many restaurants) that both the food and the service are better if we plan our meal at a slightly off hour. Nothing about Magueys is going to knock your socks off, it's just a great place to have a good Mexican meal.
