The square has become a well traveled spot in downtown Dahlonega to see and be seen. If the smell of rich chocolate from fudge shops makes you hungry, head for the Bourbon Street Grille just opposite from the courthouse. The menu is not endless but what the restaurant offers they do very very well. I chose Pasta Primavera with shrimp and it was one of the best pasta dishes I ever had. Shrimp were generous and fresh and did not require a magnifier to find them. Lunch companions had shrimp and grits, served with a corn muffin which they enjoyed greatly. If weather permits, take outside seating. The outside porch is narrow and not for the elephantine. However, the view of the square below is wonderful entertainment. Food came out quickly, and servers checked on us often to see if we needed anything. A few look like they might have come from the French Quarter but were very pleasant and helpful.
