The square has become a well traveled spot in downtown Dahlonega to see and be seen. If the smell of rich chocolate from fudge shops makes you hungry, head for the Bourbon Street Grille just opposite from the courthouse. The menu is not endless but what the restaurant offers they do very very well. I chose Pasta Primavera with shrimp and it was one of the best pasta dishes I ever had. Shrimp were generous and fresh and did not require a magnifier to find them. Lunch companions had shrimp and grits, served with a corn muffin which they enjoyed greatly. If weather permits, take outside seating. The outside porch is narrow and not for the elephantine. However, the view of the square below is wonderful entertainment. Food came out quickly, and servers checked on us often to see if we needed anything. A few look like they might have come from the French Quarter but were very pleasant and helpful.

Ten of us had just hiked Blood Mountain and were very hungry. We enjoy visiting Dahlonega and stumbled upon this Restaurant. Everything we ordered was superb! Red Beans and rice, fish tacos, steak salad, shrimp and grits....all were good with that Cajun hint. The menu had a good variety. We will go back to try some of the crawfish items. And, the restaurant is quaint with old charm.

And the food was rocking also. We started our meal with a nice before dinner drink, then we ordered two appetizers and of course another glass of wine. The baked oysters were out of this world. Great place for a cozy dinner for two and the wait staff was awesome. We will be back.

We just arrived in Dahlonega, getting ready for a long bike ride tomorrow, so wanted a nice place for a good meal. We tried Bourbon Street and it was perfect, the bruschetta starter was fantastic, every bit was devoured. I got the shrimp and grits - fantastic, plenty of shrimp and the wine inflection in the sauce was spot on. Also a plate of perfectly cooked asparagus. My husband had the chicken po boy, it was presented beautifully and he said it was just delicious.

We arrived rather early, without reservations, but we were seated without delay and served by a gracious young woman.

All in all a very good first impression and we will definitely be back.
