“Corkscrew Cafe is the place to go in Dahlonega”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

We were pleasantly surprised by our delicious meal at the Corkscrew Cafe on Main Street. We got here for an early dinner (about 5 pm) and were seated right away. There was a nice sized outdoor patio with lots of shade. They even hung bags of water containing a penny to deter the bugs (don't know if they work or not, but the idea is neat). Our waitress was very friendly, told us all about the specials and knew the menu well. We ordered the special: grouper with cauliflower in some sort of sauce that was delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly and we couldn't have been happier with our food. Good selection of wine as well. My husband had the rainbow trout which was also delicious.
You must visit the bathroom because there is an old jail cell (with the doors still attached) on the way to the bathroom. Quite interesting.
Great atmosphere, there was a guy playing guitar and singing who was especially talented. We really enjoyed our meal and will absolutely return when in town.

“I guess it's good for Dahlonega”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

One star because food was timely, second star given to good waitress. No stars for food here. This is my first review, I only ever read reviews. But this place's rating is ridiculous. There must not be anywhere better in the area, so the rating must reflect how it stands against everyone else in Dahlonega, GA. For the prices, I would have expected a lot of the food to be made from scratch. I have been in the industry for many years, and judging by the delivery being made that day (the name on the truck delivering gave it away), this food was made from many pre-made components. And really, not too good in the taste department.

“Fun for Lunch”
Reviewed October 4, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I ventured by the Corkscrew Cafe because of the TripAdvisor reviews. The restaurant met and exceeded our expectations. The lunch menu was diverse (salads, sandwiches, soups, crab cakes, ahi, etc.), our server was top notch (she even brought out a local white wine for my wife to taste as a possible alternative to the Pinot she had ordered), and most importantly the food tasted great. Try the back terrace if the weather is good.

“Excellent food”

Little pricey but worth it! Excellent food and service. Nice outdoor patio, convenient to downtown shopping. We've lived in Dahlonega 15 years and this is our first visit there but not the last.
