“Friendly, fantastic food”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

We celebrated our 37th anniversary with an overnight trip to Dahlonega, GA. We are early diners and had reservations at 6:00 p.m. and we were delighted to see that the place was packed! Attention to detail was everywhere. The menu was varied and beautifully prepared. I ordered the salmon, which came on a bed on creamed corn, however the corn was not at all mushy like you would think creamed corn would be. The corn kernels were sweet and tender. The portion of fish was very delicious and generous. My husband ordered the rainbow trout and said it, too, was delicious. The owner, Rob, took our picture so we'd have a memory of our anniversary dinner. He also showed us the original Dahlonega Jail that is in the basement of his restaurant. There is plenty of seating inside and out. We sat inside since it was hot and humid the day we were visiting.

“Small but mighty”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Since there is limited good food available in Dahlonega, this small cafe has great salads and very friendly - just off the main square - small tables - priced moderate!

“Great food, terrible service”
Reviewed August 24, 2012 via mobile

First trip was pick up order and the owner was who i talked with. He was very friendly and the quality was great. Second trip my family of six ate in the location. The snooty server was very non attentive and left food off from what we ordered. The food quality is great, the service was terrible.

“Excellent Food and Service”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

The food at the Corkscrew Cafe is excellent. I shared a steak sandwich with my sister and we each had a cup of the French Onion soup. The steak sandwich was so tender and the bread was soooo soft and fresh. The French Onion soup was some of the best I have ever had. My husband had the club and he usually complains about food, but he really enjoyed his sandwich. The owner of the cafe stopped by our table to make sure our meal was to our satisfaction. That was a nice touch to an excellent meal. I will definitely dine here when I'm in Dahlonega.
