The only thing wolf mountain winery has going for it are its views. Terrible wine, terrible food, rude staff and expensive. Would not go back.

“Average Vineyard Average Wine”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

Nice place with average wine. We did not purchase any. Be prepared to climb stairs to get to the tasting room from the lower parking area. The younger man at the tasting bar was the best. The other guy and young woman were "distracted." Nice view. Will not go back, and would not recommend it to my friends.

“Great views, food and wine”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

This was our second visit to Wolf Mountain and it was just as awesome as the first. This time we met up with friends for a birthday lunch. We were a little disappointed that we couldn't sit out on the balcony and enjoy the spectacular view, but they didn't have space out there for a party of 9.

The food was great as usual, even the first-timers agreed. And the menu has suggested wines for each item. I did not part-take in the wine tasting as I was the designated driver, but those who did, enjoyed it. The atmosphere was inviting and fun. It gets a little crowded on a Saturday so you want to go when they open - at noon. This way you get to eat and then go downstairs and get a good seat on the terrace to enjoy the wine and the view.

We found the visitors there to be very warm and conversational for the most part, maybe its the wine. We met a few folks from out of town both times, and they are always willing to strike up a conversation. If you are considering visiting, do yourself a favor and stop considering, just go.

“Fabulous!!!”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

My wife and I reserved for lunch at Wolf Mountain and we are so glad we did. Our B&B hosts apparently told the folks here about that day being our 43rd wedding anniversary and we were treated very, very nicely by Lindsey and her staff, including a mouth-watering, complimentary dessert. The food was delicious and the view from the outdoor seating area was breathtaking. Highly recommended!

“Great view, lousy tour”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

Great view. The tour is so boring. The tour guy is inconsiderate. Facilities are not family oriented. The stairs is dark and narrow. The tour guy disappeared quickly. He did not wait for us, while we were taking out my son from the stroller. My husband went ahead to catch up with them. I fell off the stairs with my son. Lucily, we are OK. But it ruined our experience. We went to frog town winery, which is more family oriented and fun.

Anita-

Thank you for visiting our winery and for taking the time to let us know about your concerns. We will definitely look into adding additional lighting on the stairway leading down to the winery as you noted that you missed a step because of that reason. As for the winery tour not being family oriented, it is really not meant to be, but we should have told you that when you signed up. We apologize if you felt the tour guide was inconsiderate. When I spoke to Stephen who guided your tour this past Saturday, he did wait for a few minutes for you, but in the interest of the others in the group decided to move onto the cellar. We do not want anyone to feel like they have not been treated well as exuding southern hospitality is our main goal at Wolf Mountain. We again apologize that you left our winery with that feeling.

Sincerely-
Lindsey Smith
