Owner description: We are a fully operational vineyard and winery, growing vines on 4.5 acres of North Georgia countryside. We are the "baby" of the county vineyards, but we take great pride in our work, and are proud to set our own pace to viticulture. Our staff and owner got into this trade with a true desire to make great wine and provide a fun and inviting atmosphere for our guests. These things we do with great pride! History Established in 2007. Cavender Creek Vineyards and Winery got its start with the foresight of Raymond and Donna Castleberry, as well as with the volunteer help of family and friends, in 2007. In the summer of 2015, Raymond and Donna finally called for a second "retirement", and sold Cavender Creek Vineyards to our new proprietor, Claire Livingston. The first vines planted at Cavender were two red grape varietals; Cabernet Sauvignon (a vitis vinifera species) and Norton/Cynthiana (a vitis aestivalis species), with our first harvest being in the summer of 2009. The third plot (Petit Manseng), a small white grape, was planted in 2008 and premiered its first vintage in the Spring of 2011. Here at Cavender we endeavor to produce hand-crafted wines that reflect the personal attention to detail and "pampering", from planting to bottling.

We had a group of six, none of whom had been to a winery before, and every one of us had a delightful time! The wine was, for the most part, excellent, and the prices were even better, but it was the atmosphere that really had us blown away. The gentleman behind the wine counter was quick to notice when we had finished our sample and would step out to bring the next one right to us. He was incredibly knowledgeable, and his laid-back humor had us laughing the whole time. The grounds were small but beautiful; it was truly a perfect afternoon!

I will start by saying they have quite a few sweet wines that I am unfortunately not a fan of. The staff and their laid back easy way of doing things was the highlight for me. Our group brought sandwiches and had our wine tasting for 12 people on the back deck as we enjoyed lunch. It was perfect. Relaxed, no pressure. The tasting room itself is large and can fit more people than most tasting rooms in the area.

We had a great day visiting Cavender Creek Vineyards near Atlanta last weekend. Tracy was very fun, informative, laid back...perfect host for our stop. The wines were great, reasonable tasting prices, and we loved hearing the story behind each of the names of the wines. Would definitely recommend to anyone in or near Atlanta for a great day north of the crazy city.

What a wonderful atmosphere with such a friendly, welcoming staff. We hit the circuit of wineries in the area and by far this was our favorite. They made you feel at home as soon as you walked through the door. Very comfortable and relaxed, not snooty like a couple of the others we visited. A great variety of awesome wines.
