“Went there to eat only”
Reviewed July 28, 2013 via mobile

I lived in dahlonega the first 20 years of my life, and never tried eating here, but after 35 years me and my family decided to try it.well I have to say we all eat like hogs, and this place had more than enough food to serve our needs!!!!.the food tasted great, and they will keep bringing all you want.the price was very expensive for this type of food I thought, but my only complaint was that the only choice for drinks are tea, and lemonade. No soft drinks at ALL.overall we had a great visit, but I have no interest in hurrying back, because there are so many other options with the same quality food for much lower price....give wagon wheel restaurant a try.

Our room in the wing had recently been refurbished. It was attractive, quiet and had a wonderful bed with a pillow top mattress. The bathroom was spacious and modern. The parking was plentiful and convenient. We would definitely stay there again.

My family rented 3 rooms for 3 nights for a wedding at one of the local wineries. The winery was a short distance away about a 15 minute ride. The main street of town was a block away where all the shops were located and the Gold Museum. The rooms were cozy and clean. The showers were large and beds were comfortable. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We were surprised by a rose bud in our bathroom on the 2nd night. The pool was large and very clean. There is a restaurant on the premises that serves a buffet southern style lunch and dinner for $14.99 - $17.99. There is an extensive gift shop. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Room #6 out front gives you immediate access to the front porch and rocking chairs right in front of...

We stayed here a few years ago. Although we enjoyed the room we were in it was TINY. There was maybe a foot between the bed, the dresser and tv, and maybe 3 feet on the other side to the small bathroom. The price was fairly expensive, and the "free breakfast" was a packaged muffin (not even homemade) and coffee or tea. We haven't stayed there since then, as there are other options that are bigger, less expensive, and have a full free breakfast.

We scheduled our stay over July 4 before we knew that all special events in town would be postponed because of rain. We decided to go anyway. We were delighted at check-in by the warmth of the staff who offered us a room that suited our needs better than the one we had originally reserved. The room was lovely with everything available to meet our needs. We especially enjoyed the rockers just outside our room on the wrap-around porch. We spent part of our evening rocking, reading and watching people--delightful. The hotel is within easy walking distance of both the square in Dahlonega and North Georgia College. Thanks for a great overnite!

We stayed at the Smith House while attending orientation for UNG for our son. Our room was charming and comfortable. We highly recommend this hotel and will be returning whenever possible. It has all the amenities one would look for in a hotel and the service was above and beyond our expectations.
