“Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

We stayed at the Smith House during Thanksgiving and we all loved it! The rooms were cozy and the beds were very comfortable. The amenities were very nice and the proximity to the square (walking distance) was great! All in all, it was a great experience.

My husband and I celebrated my retirement in Dahlonega, GA. We wanted a room right on the square so we could walk everywhere. Our room was in the Carriage House. It was charming. The bathroom was small but clean and had nice amenities. The bed was big & comfy. The only negative comment I have is that we did not stay long enough! I will definitely go back again. It's a bit pricey (for us) but the location is well worth the extra $$$

My husband and I visited The Smith House on November 24, 2012. For $150.00 per night (tax included) for a room, we were very, very disappointed in the size of the room and the bathroom. We stayed at the Super 8 in Jasper, AL Friday, November 30, 2012 and for $55.00, it put the Smith House Room to shame. The only redeeming factor was the restaurant at the Smith House. The people were extremely friendly. The breakfast was a total joke, packaged muffins and coffee with no place to sit. You just kind of stand around uncomfortably. The Smith House room was not at all what I was expecting for the money. I won't stay there again.

We were there for a wedding and we booked late so we got a small room and a very small bathroom. The bed was amazing. We loved the look of the house and the staff was extrmely southern friendly. Shopping was fun, the restaurants and bars were fun late night. We loved the city and the winery too for the wedding. I would recco.

Room Tip: If you need some bathroom space please make sure to ask for a larger room.

We used to live near Dahlonega 25 years ago and were passing through and stayed at this wonderful hotel. The bed was so comfortable I was a sleep quickly. Right on the town square was a plus for window shopping.

Rooms are small but nice comfortable bed. Family style dining is delicious! Continental breakfast a disappointment. Consisted of packaged muffin(so-so) and coffee with no place to sit. Great location to walk around town.

Rooms are a bit run down, fixtures are older in the rooms and there is at least 3/4 of an inch between the doors and the floor. Unless you get up early in the AM be prepared to hear other folks who do so slamming their doors and talking in the hall.

Close to N GA Collge campus and downtown Dahlonega but other than that, no reason to stay here when for the same price or cheaper you can stay in a chain hotel with better amenities. Staff was nice enough but not knocking themselves out for service. Parking is crowded on the weekends and the lot is cramped. Again for 139$ or more you can do better.
